Gendarmerie-type force?

As far as I can understand, the Rendészeti Biztonsági Szolgálat is more similar to the German Bereitschaftspolizei or the French Compagnies Républicaines de Sécurité - which in turn are not considered Gendarmerie forces. Mentatus 20:33, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

The Commander of Rendészeti Biztonsági Szolgálat is not appointed by the National Commissioner of the Police of the Republic of Hungary, but by the Minister of Justice. CRS is the integral part of Police Nationale in France, and as I know, the so-called Bereischaftpolizei belongs to the police force of the given province in Germany, these are not independent forces. The situation of Rendészeti Biztonsági Szolgálat is special in Europe, its operation is regulated by the Police Act, while on the other hand its leader is not subordinated to the National Commissioner and only the Minister can replace him or her. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.2.131.235 (talkcontribs)
