Le Cateau-Cambrésis coat of arms in question

[edit]

I looked at the blazon in the image file's page and found this blazon:

  • "D'azur à un château donjonné d'or ouvert d'argent et ajouré de sable, les trois tours couvertes aussi d'or et les deux tours des flancs ouvertes du champ."

If the blazon is correct then the image is not. My french is not the best but, it would appear that the castle is argent, not or. Also it looks as though there are more to the castle then just three towers of the same tincture.

Furthermore, I found in the armorial list of the Communes of Nord this blazon attached to Le Cateau-Cambrésis.

  • "D'azur au château d'argent, sommé de trois tourelles du même."

If this blazon is correct then the castle is argent. Either way, the castle in the Le Cateau-Cambrésis arms is not or! --Xavier (talk) 03:49, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
