History
[edit]Lebanese immigration to latin america started in the second half of the 19th century - during the times of the Ottoman empire. These were mainly orthodox and maronitic christian, but muslims and jews also fled the turkish realm. This is why the descendants often identify as "sirolebanese", and the influential "Club Sirio" is open to both businessmen from Lebanon or Syria.
Two of the most popular fast food chains in Asunción are "Monte Libano" and "Hola Beirut". --Jost Riedel (talk) 10:26, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
