I am very impressed with the terrific idea that has been founded in Wikipedia. I have read a great deal already over many topics and nowhere have I been IMMEDIATELY STRUCK by the qualifictaions and judgements made about the subject matter (Lee Michaels). It is glib, which is a passive aggressive tactic in most cases. Of course I disagee with this person's drift: he/she is probably a music critic; professional (those people should stay out of here) and full of trite and horrible jargon. That's my view. On the subject of the Jefferson Airplane[edit]

As far as I know the only drummer of the Jefferson Airplane was Spencer Dryden. As I'm not a total expert on the Airplane, I can't say that Johny Barbata (who apparently worked with Lee Michaels and who this article currently mentions as the Airplane's drummer) never was their drummer at any point, he might have filled in for Dryden or something. But then shouldn't it say he filled in for him or replaced him or something like that? Since the mention is in relation to the bands Barbata had been a part of there is no easy way to notate what you're asking. Barbata was the Airplane's final drummer playing on the Long John Silver and 30 Seconds Over Winterland albums - the band's last 2 before morphing into Starship. Dryden was not the group's only drummer. Jerry Peloquin and Skip Spence both played drums for the group. Dryden was Spence's replacement in 1966 when Skip left the group after their first album was released.THX1136 (talk) 23:51, 3 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
