Members

[edit]

A source on membership would be needed. These edits contained some errors. CPI(Maoist) is obviously not a member of the Front. The Forward Bloc is not a member (at least so was the situation in 2006). INL is not a member, but a close ally. Groups like PDP have vacillating relation to LDF, sometimes allies sometimes not. --Soman (talk) 12:19, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Updates

[edit]

Some references are added to reflect the scenario of 2011. The details given were obsolete. And the "Unreferenced" tag is removed from the page. -- Aqueousmatt (talk) 16:56, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Political activism

[edit]

Hi Kambliyil, see the articles of United Progressive Alliance and National Democratic Alliance. Incidents about particular parties don't belong here. The content you added is most likely criticism of political parties including the RSS. This belongs to the pages of the respective articles if it's due. Also please see WP:NOTNEWS. Requested move 5 November 2021

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: Moved. NO objections, and page views suggest it's a correct primary topic.  — Amakuru (talk) 22:27, 15 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

– Clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. There is only one other article actually called Left Democratic Front, and it is about an obscure defunct political alliance in Maharashtra. All the others listed at Left Democratic Front have inherent disambiguation, and none are nearly as significant or viewed as the Kerala LDF anyway. Ideology in infobox

[edit]

I'm removing ideologies from the infobox, as LDF as a coalition has no distinct ideology of its own. The two largest constituents are communist, but LDF as a coalition is not communist or Marxist. As per the sources, the comment [1] "CPM-led LDF a social democratic alternative with a progressive veneer." is not enough to say that LDF is ideologically social democratic, arguably here the author uses 'social democratic' in a very broad sense. [2] gives zero backing for 'Progressivism'. Likewise [3] really gives no indication at all about any ideological line of LDF, rather the article debates tactical arrangements in Kerala politics. -- Soman (talk) 12:53, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
