Influence[edit]

I have removed the "Influence" section that states Shigeru Miyamoto worked on the Legend of Zelda with Legend as in influence. This sounds thematically true, but has been disproven numerous times. The chief reason being that Legend was released in Japan in 1986 and the Legend of Zelda was completed in early 1986 or possibly earlier. The link to prove the influence is a fan site without citations to any actual interviews. I have put the original text below. Interestingly enough, this does appear in the "Gamer's Guiness Book of World Records" a few years ago, but again, citing online knowledge and no actual interviews.--64.114.135.25 (talk) 19:53, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I heard in the 90's that Zelda was based on Legend. I never saw the movie, but heard it had too many similarities not for Zelda to be based on the movie. I looked it up, and Zelda was released in Feb, 1986, and Legend was released in Dec, 1985, meaning Nintendo would have to have made a massive game (for its time) in just a matter of weeks, impossible for the time! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.235.82.227 (talk) 21:34, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your both WRONG!!! IT WAS BASED ON LEGEND! The game was NOT massive for its time, Sega's Master System games were LARGER, by nearly 3 times, than Zelda, which was easily thrown together in just a couple weeks, because it was BASED ON THIS MOVIE!!!! ADD IT BACK!!!!!!!--76.216.124.208 (talk) 08:41, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of the Legend of Zelda series, openly admitted this film was one of his influences when he created the series.[1]

SEE? ZELDA WAS BASED ON THIS MOVIE ADD THE INFORMATION BACK IN!!!!--76.216.124.208 (talk) 08:44, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The page you link to does not even exist. At this point it can't even be verified that the info exists.--76.66.180.175 (talk) 05:42, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tim Curry's Voice[edit]

Artificially lowered or did he do that himself? I suspect the former. 68.148.249.151 (talk) 03:40, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Review[edit]

The problems that prevent this article from attaining B-class:

  • Referencing
    • Not all sections are referenced
    • Plot sections should not have any references inside
  • Coverage
    • Certain sections are too short (eg: the casting section). Try to expand these or merge it with other sections with similar information
    • Lead section is too short. See Wikipedia:MOSFILM#Lead_section.
    • Film plot is too long. Please refer to WP:FILMPLOT.
    • There is little information about its release and about its reception.
    • Cast list is basically just a credit roll. Doesn't comply with WP:FILMCAST.
  • Structure- I feel that the article does not flow smoothly because it is divided into too many sections. You might want to refer to the Manual of Style.

Please continue to improve the article. You all have done a good job so far! --Lionratz (talk) 06:40, 1 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Plot[edit]

I dunno if it's much shorter, but it's much more accurate. Am willing to tackle some other sections on another day. Forgot that I can delete links w/ Mia's and Tom's names in second paragraph. I'll get that next time. I try not to explain things that aren't actually in the film in the plot section (like Jack is never referred to in the film as "Jack o' the Green", even if that is his name in the script) but to tie together threads and clarify or highlight things that might not be obvious to a casual viewer. I can use references in the reception section to highlight key points and flaws as well. I'm kinda new at this so I tackle these articles a little at a time.
