Article needs major rewrite[edit]

I've added length and peacock tags to the article heading. The article is plainly too long and promotional. I know of no other orchestral article that goes into this level of detail. See articles on the Cleveland Orchestra and Berlin Philharmonic for reference. I will be tightening the article in the near future, including the removal of dead wikilinks, removing excess photgraphs, and toning down the wordiness. Please leave suggestions on the talk page. This article appears to be the work of one editor, who may object to these changes. Let's try to be civil and constructive.THD3 (talk) 13:17, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It does appear to be the work of one author. However, looking at the standard of the page, he appears to be knowledgeable but NOT familiar with the policy of Wikipedia. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that these changes are made in an effective and civil manner. If any information regarding the orchestra is required, then please contact me. At a go-over: far too many links unfollowed that go to the wrong place or to dab pages with no hint where they should go (unless one already knows the repertoire, e.g. Joseph Horovitz, not Horowitz, trumpet concerto... oy!!!!)..., far too much overlinking, far too many reviews, far too long. This needs an overhaul and rewriting from the ground up, not a bit of editing. Schissel | Sound the Note! 19:28, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

cquote[edit]

Messed up - they're only supposed to be used in limited ways (see the template description), rquote for the rest... will go over later though. Schissel | Sound the Note! 16:37, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
