See Wikipedia:Naming conventions (definite and indefinite articles at beginning of name)#Rule of thumb. Would "The" be commonly capitalised in running text (i.e. would you write "I went to The Leigh Technology Academy")? I would suggest it would not be and that most people would actually write "I went to the Leigh Technology Academy" or even just "I went to Leigh Technology Academy". The Leigh UTC[edit]

The Leigh UTC, also part of Leigh Academies Trust, opened to students on 8 September 2014^[1] and specialises in Engineering and Computer Sciences. The school is now open to students in Year 10, 11, 12 and 13.^[2]
