I would like to ask why this article alone out of so many is the only one that has a "needs citations" tag. --Warp L. Obscura 12:26, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image...?[edit]

Image:RenaTrueSoA.jpg

We need a new image of Rena in the ultimate robe. This isn't her. This is Arika in her Zwei robe from the OVA. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Linkforlife (talkcontribs) 06:08, 6 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

  • I made that, and I beg to differ. [1] [2] See? Official site shows Rena using the BSS 2.0 Robe. It is a hand-me-down from mother to daughter. --Warp L. Obscura 12:38, 6 December 2006 (UTC) Besides, the hair is black not brown. It is also significant because it distinguishes Rena's version from Arika's by virtue of the severely oversized, would-be-compensating-for-something-if-she-actually-needed-to-compensate-for-anything Bolt from the Blue. Unless you have a better-quality version of that image to contribute, then please do. --Warp L. Obscura 12:41, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well, I do have a better image that could be uploaded, because it is the exact same image as that one, taken straight from the OVA. I am not questioning Rena's use of the Ultimate robe, I'm saying the image isn't of her. It is Arika. It is really easy to tell, because even in this low-resolution shot you can see that she has brown hair, not black.Linkforlife 21:48, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Let's see Arika's version up here... But in the meantime, here's a GIF of Rena using BftB. The proof is there, even if you don't want to believe it. I can pass you the video where I extracted the shot from, but that would not be wise to discuss here. --Warp L. Obscura 04:19, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • This whole thing is a big misunderstanding. I know that Rena uses the Ultimate Blue Sky robe. And I know that she uses Bolt from the Blue. Those facts I am not contesting. Please understand that. What I am saying is, the image being used in the article is not of Rena! As you said previously, Rena has black hair. In this picture, you can clearly see the hair is brown. I am in no way trying to disprove Rena's use of the UBS or BftB. I am simply saying that the image is wrong, not any facts in the article. Linkforlife 03:20, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Last resort. Here's the portion of the video I originally took that image from in animated GIF form. The fact that it is Rena in that image should be crystal clear and beyond dispute now. If the source itself cannot convince you, nothing will. I know I sound like I am pulling WP:ABF, but this sort of issue should really not have had any room for dispute in the first place. --Warp L. Obscura 04:32, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
    • Ok, your right. Are you happy now? Now, if you don't mind, I'd like to explain my confusion.
  1. We are coming from two totally different backgrounds. You had the original image, and I didn't. I took it as something I recognized, while you knew this not to be true.
    1. I recognized this exact picture as a scene in the My-Otome OVA. This was my only basis of it, but if you compare the two scenes, you will see they look exactly the same. A very easy mistake to make.
    2. Not even worrying about where the image comes from, look at the hair color. You cannot tell me that that color is black. When you repeatedly said that her hair was black, I assumed you were refering to the actual Rena, not the image that I was refering too.
  2. When you pointed me to the official web page, I thought you were trying to say, "it is her, look, she uses the robe." My response was that "i know she uses the robe, i'm talking about the image," which you knew the origins of, and I didn't.
  3. You're repeated use of negative connotations made me feel like a stubborn fool, which in turn made me want to refute you in any way possible. This too was a part of the problem.

Once again, this whole thing was a misunderstanding. I think we can both agree on that. I think if you take a step back and look at my point of veiw, you'll see that I was not trying to act in bad faith at all. I was just a little confused, is all. >_<; Linkforlife 05:20, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • My apologies then. Having seen the source, I found it very hard to believe that anybody could make this sort of error and this led to premature judgement. I forgot that the sources I draw upon may not be available to all and made a foolish assumption. It did not help that the exclusive communities where I drew the source from unanimously agreed on the hair colour, such that I was clouded into thinking that it was beyond dissent. I will do my best to seek wider views and not be so presumptuous in future. So what do you plan to do about the image that has led to this meaningless conflict? --Warp L. Obscura 14:35, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well, there isn't much we can do about the image, since it is legit. I assume you've seen the OVA, and in it Arika uses the exact same attack, so it can't really be called "Rena's" version, since both Arika's and Rena's are exactly the same. But I digress. Linkforlife 20:17, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • So... You're not going to bother replacing it with the much clearer, meaning-wise at any rate, GIF? It could prevent future conflict of this kind, even if this dispute resolution of sorts is already here. --Warp L. Obscura 01:03, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • That would be a good idea, but that would probably go against one of Wikipedia's policies. I am not too familiar with the image uploading requirements, so if you can get the right copyright information and upload it to the wiki, be my guest. If that is impossible, we could always have an external link to the file. Linkforlife 07:38, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Name Error[edit]

Hello. I would like the request to creator of this article that there need to be a change of the name in the Title of this article and in the rest of it. Her name is 'Lena' not 'Rena'. As noted in a small edit on this page I have done myself. If you need proof here is the link to an offical My Otome poster that has her name spelled in the background. http://img513.imageshack.us/my.php?image=lenaml5tn2.jpg Thank you for time.

  • It is also spelled "Lena" in the newspaper seen in Zwei 1. - Sikon 03:22, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • While her name is given as Lena her name also appears as Rena in one episode in which Nina is looking true Sergay's albums her name is shown as Rena so both name sare infact correct 205.110.156.20 (talk) 02:45, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Renasayers Meisterrobe.gif[edit]

Image:Renasayers Meisterrobe.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
