Not much in the way of details about this fondly remembered newscaster... Height, Weight... Marital Status... Children... Family... Place of retirement... one read somewhere that he lived in a cottage ? near Pickering, Yorkshire ?? Funeral arrangements... Place of resting... Someone must know something about him ??? !

When Charlie Williams' father died when he was aged 15, he moved from nearby South Hiendley to live with cousins in Upton on the same street as Leonard, working at Upton pit. Charlie got spotted playing for the colliery football team aged 19 and signed up for Doncaster Rovers.
