Command history[edit]

The USMC bio is terse on Brown's command history. Here is some information that I've found from other sources. I'd like to be able to put together a chronology of command. I see that he's commanded 1st MAW and 3rd MAW, but, I'm not clear on the years.

  • In 1971, as a brigadier general, he was CG of 3rd MAW. See Quilter, Colonel Charles J. Quilter II, USMCR (Ret) and Captain John C. Chapin, USMCR (Ret) (2001). "A History of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 531" (PDF). Washington, D.C.: History and Museum Division, Headquarters Marine Corps, United States Marine Corps. pp. p. 56–57. PCN 19000319600. Retrieved 2007-02-27. {{cite web}}: |pages= has extra text (help)CS1 maint: multiple names: authors list (link)
  • As a major general, he was CG of 1st MAW. See citation in article.
