but what does it mean?

common usege seems to be "lest you forget" to mean "don't you forget"

"Lest you forget, we need this brother"

-- My beef is: why is this not referred to anywhere?

Wake in Fright (1971) directed by Ted Kotcheff: reference[edit]

There is a reference of the ode in the movie Wake in Fright (1971) directed by Ted Kotcheff. They recite the second stanza of the poem and keep a few seconds of silence. They finish with "Lest We Forget" Emprexer (talk) 23:43, 4 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
