Question about neutrality tag

[edit]

i have noticed that this page was tagged with the following text

The neutrality of this article is disputed. Please see the discussion on the talk page. This article or section has been tagged since July 2007.

i created the page which was in fact one of my very first contributions to the wikipedia

i would like to have some guidance on how to interprete this comment and learn to make a better contribution

please notice that all information included in this page was provided by Juliette Nuijten, who is Lex de Haan's widow

i believe that the same information was provided by Juliette Nuijten to the press

thank you in advance

I did not do the neutrality tag but I do have some remarks about the article.

First: it is not sourced, it really should give some links or references to back up all things said. I the press did publish the information given to them that should not be a problem.

Second and for me more important: this is a hagiography, everything that's mentioned was a great succes. If true it should be sourced. And even then: only naming successes is not a good way to write biographies in encyclopedia.

I think hagiography is too strong a word, but this certainly isn't a biography (bios = life, and we learn nothing about this man's life). My reservations are different: is Lex de Haan noteworthy enough for his own article? Rp (talk) 18:50, 29 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
