Speedy deletion???[edit]

This article is marked as a "candidate for speedy deletion". I don't know who wrote that, but if a Nobel prize winner is not entitled to have his/her own wikipedia page, I think there is a problem. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.81.9.177 (talk) 11:19, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see any traces of this article having been nominated for deletion, speedy or otherwise. Any attempt to get it deleted would certainly be doomed. Favonian (talk) 11:25, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The photo was nominated for speedy deletion. I replaced it with another photo I downloaded from a press kit. Someone with more experience, please check to make sure I did it correctly. Thanks. USchick (talk) 15:08, 7 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You transfered the file that you uploaded here under Fair use (use of copyrighted material for educational purpose) to Wikimedia Commons claiming there that it is free content published by the copyright holder under the Free Art License. Thats untrue. On Commons, where you uploaded your second version, fair use is strictly forbidden. On Wikipedia this photo not qualifies for fair use because it fails the Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria point 1. This is a free content project, files must be free to reuse by anyone, worldwide, anywhere, anytime, for any purpose educational as well as commercial purposes under the terms of a irrevocable free license. --Martin H.
