Personal life?[edit]

Why is there nothing at all about Liam's private life? I came here to find out if he's married and to whom... Just part of a discussion with a friend... /Kristian — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.68.22.111 (talk) 20:25, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Word usage[edit]

In this sentence:

"O'Flynn is acknowledged as Ireland's foremost exponent of the uilleann pipes "

I think the word "exponent" is used incorrectly. "Proponent", if the intended meaning is that he promotes the pipes, or "practitioner" if it's intended to express that he is the best at the pipe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.69.15.34 (talk) 12:45, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@192.69.15.34: Dear fellow editor,
Thank you for your interest in this article, and also for your comments. After checking in the online OED, I found the following among several possible meanings for exponent:
A person who demonstrates a particular skill to a high standard: "he’s the world’s leading exponent of country rock guitar"
On that basis, I would propose that we leave the sentence as it is currently worded, and I hope you will support it as it is. However, please feel free to let me know, one way or the other. Thank you once again for the heads up.
With kind regards;
Patrick. ツ Pdebee.(talk)(guestbook) 16:13, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
