PREMATURE INTERVENTION[edit]

GURT POSH please leave this article alone for an hour or so - if you look at the history, you will see I am actually at this moment in the middle of making this page, and due to your intervention, I have lost a load of edits - ironically precisely those your header requests. Please look at the date and time of edits in history before making changes - I mean, thanks for looking at it, but give me a moment to write it first! This goes for you, Beeswaxcandle.

I know you are both trying to be helpful, but it is impossible to compose an article of someone else is also making edits - I keep losing edits due to "edit conflicts" Please leave this article alone until 2 June

Your well-intentioned efforts have caused me massive frustration and lost me (a) time, and (b) the will to contribute to wikipedia.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Markeyatgnapcorg (talkcontribs)

At the time I added the categories and tags, the page asked for contributions up at the top. So contribute I did. I'm sorry you've lost edits, but if you'd like more time to edit the article, then please consider either adding Template:Under construction, or moving the article to a WP:User subpage to give you time to work on the page. Wikipedia is a collaborative editing environment, so you can expect more edits like mine unless you isolate the article for solo editing for a while. Would you like me to move it to a user subpage for you? Gurt Posh (talk) 10:04, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

REPLY[edit]

AAARGH!!!!!! I just typed a whole long reply into your talk page which was then ITSELF lost as you were modifying it yourself! - I havent yet figured out how to use the Talk pages! Or how to recover my changes when there is a conflict. Here goes again: So, hi! and thanks for your very helpful reply - (Template:Under construction is a good idea) I didnt add anything requesting contributions, presumably that was WP automated. THANKS - sorry to bite your head off, but as I said - if you looked at the dates of edits, you'd see I was in the middle of it. I think next time I am going to write the whole thing in Word and wikify it all at once. New to all this - creating page on spur of moment!

THANK YOU all the same! m— Preceding unsigned comment added by Markeyatgnapcorg (talkcontribs)

Not to worry: to recover your changes in an edit conflict, just hit the "back" button on your web browser, and your edits will re-appear as they were. You can't then save that directly with the Wikipedia "save" button, but you can copy and paste the contents either back to a fresh edit of the page, or to a separate text editor, etc.
Please don't get discouraged by the trials of working online in Wikipedia: I hope you'll stick around and contribute. The article looks great so far. Please ask at my talk page if you have any questions. Thanks, Gurt Posh (talk) 10:16, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

THANKS![edit]

Thanks! OK, I'm logging off for the afternoon - it's all yours! Feel free to tinker, and I'll have a look in six hours or so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Markeyatgnapcorg (talkcontribs) 10:20, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
