Merger by vandals?[edit]

There has been a merger done without any "discussion". I think it is related to a possible vandalism, so I have reverted it. Indeed the "Liceo" was the best college in the Italian empire in Africa and was the forerunner of the first university in Eritrea.--17Sus (talk) 12:24, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article has been merged into the parent article. The parent article meets notability criteria, and this information should be included there. No reason for separate page, and the information has been included on Wikipedia with an appropriate redirect. Please stop your disruptive editing. Onel5969 TT me 12:31, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
NO! It has been merged without any discussion! If you want to merge you MUST have a discussion, don't forget this wiki rule. So, I reverse. And remember that in this Liceo were started the first medicine studies for the first university in Eritrea.--17Sus (talk) 12:35, 13 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@17Sus: The way it works is that one can do a non-controversial merger without discussion as long as nobody objects. At the time I made the merger, nobody objected to it, so it wasn't necessary to have a discussion about it. However now that you have expressed disagreement with the merger it would now be necessary in order for a merger to happen. Honestly, though, if you can write a full article about the standalone liceo I would be totally fine with a separate article. The issue is that I was unclear whether the three levels of Italian education in Asmara, Eritrea are considered to be a single school or three different schools. If the high school had a long history as being a separate school before being incorporated into a single Italian school in Eritrea it's perfectly fine for it to have a separate article. No problem, my friend. In the actual Italy's bureaucracy it is a common practice to use special words to unite a group of things. So the Liceo Martini was united with other schools in the so called "Istituto Italiano Statale Omnicomprensivo di Asmara", where the word "omnicomprensivo" literally means "including everything". But this liceum "had a long history as being a separate school before being incorporated into a single Italian school" as you correctly wrote. This Liceo changed even name from Martini to the actual name Marconi in the 1960s. Regards, --17Sus (talk) 02:22, 14 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Great! In that case the liceo component can have a separate article. I noticed that a lot of other Italian international schools such as those in Paris, Barcelona, and Addis Ababa also had the name "omnicomprensivo" but were treated as single schools. Anyway, you may also be interested in this ITwiki discussion I started: it:Wikipedia:Bar/Discussioni/How_many_Italian_schools_are_in_Asmara,_Eritrea? I'll see if I can find time to be in your Itwiki discussion, even if actually I am very busy. Regards, --17Sus (talk) 00:22, 15 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ok! Be sure to ping people when you do so as the discussion has grown cold WhisperToMe (talk) 15:02, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
