Infobox
[edit]- "Writers" section does not need to be sourced since it is in the article Done
Lead
[edit]- ...Pharrell and Don Jazzy for Jay-Z's and West's collaboration album, Watch the Throne. → "Watch the Throne" should have year of release in parentheses next to it Done
- However, Mars never appeared on the song and it was sent... → Remove "it" to make prose flow better Done
- "Lift Off" was performed live by Jay-Z and Kanye West during their tour in promotion of Watch the Throne titled Watch the Throne Tour (2011-12).[2][3] → Information in the lead section should be included in the article Done
Background and composition
[edit]- In early May, 2011... → Get rid of comma after "May" Done
- ...it was rumored that Bruno Mars recorded vocals for the song along with Beyoncé Knowles and it was reported that the song will be released as the lead single... → Has the album been released? If so, "will be released" needs to be changed to "would be released" Done
- According to WP:SAMPLE, audio recordings have to be less than 10% of the original recording (it needs to be less than 26.6 seconds and is currently 30 seconds)
- Not done I don't know how to do that.
Critical reception
[edit]- ...MTV News' Alvin Blanco, heard a preview of the song... → Comma not needed after "Blanco"
Release and chart performance
[edit]- "Lift Off" was sent to urban contemporary radio in the United States on August 23.[36] → Specify year Done
- However, this was stated in July, 2011 and no further plans about it were announced. → Source is needed, or it violates WP:NOR Done
- Expand information on chart performance
- Nothing more to expand...
Charts
[edit]- No issues
References
[edit]- Reference 5 → "Digital Spy" needs to be wiki-linked Done
- Reference 15 → Does not work according to this
- It's dead... I'll try to archive the link; if I can't, I'll remove it.
- Reference 20 → "Viacom" should be the publisher; "MTV" and "Viacom" should be wiki-linked
- Already explained on the other talk page (MTV wiki-linked). :D
After thoroughly reviewing this article, I have decided to put it on hold at this time. There are some prose issues and reference formatting issues among other things that are keeping this article from reaching good article status. I will give you the general seven days to fix these mistakes and/or address issues you believe do not concern good article status. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. - Removed the sample and the dead link. My love is love (talk) 23:24, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
- Since all of the issues have been addressed, I feel confident passing this article now. Although, I would recommend using the audio sample within the parameters of WP:SAMPLE, as it would add more depth to the article. Keep up the good work! Rp0211 (talk2me) 23:53, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
