Fair use rationale for Image:Lighthouse logo.gif
[edit]Image:Lighthouse logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Requested move 3 July 2018
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: the only consensus in the discussion was that "the" should be removed from the title, so for the time being, the move has been performed as originally proposed. Please feel free to submit a new move request at any time if you would like to move the page to a different title. Dekimasuよ! 21:24, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
The Lighthouse (Poole) → Lighthouse (Poole) – "The" is not part of its name; officially it's just called Lighthouse and official sources are quite careful not to precede it with the definite article. In informal usage you do often see the article (usually uncapitalized), but this isn't enough for WP:THE (the most relevant example on that page is White House).
Sources without "the":
- Its website's about page
- Local authority: [1] [2]
- News articles: Daily Echo, BBC News
- Tenants: [3], [4], [5], [6]

- From its appearance on the photo in the article, it is not a converted lighthouse but an ordinary-shaped on-land-type building. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 04:22, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
Support in principle, but... clearly "The" is extraneous, but my concern is with the (Poole) disambiguator. Shouldn't it be Lighthouse (theatre) or Lighthouse (arts centre) ? -- Netoholic @ 05:24, 3 July 2018 (UTC)
- Move to Lighthouse, Poole. We commonly use comma disambiguation for buildings, structures and venues in Commonwealth countries (except Canada). The existence of Light House Media Centre and Lighthouse Theatre complicates disambiguation by function. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:09, 4 July 2018 (UTC)
- It's clearly an arts centre. I am more in favour of Lighthouse (arts centre). — Frayæ (Talk/Spjall) 17:16, 10 July 2018 (UTC)
- Relisting comment. There appears to be consensus that a move should be performed, but consensus for a target is not yet clear. Dekimasuよ! 21:54, 12 July 2018 (UTC)
- Use Lighthouse (arts centre); while I agree with Necrothesp, this isn't actually a lighthouse, so Lighthouse, Poole would be misleading. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 00:08, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
- Move to Lighthouse (arts centre, Poole) since there's one in Brighton too. And Lighthouse Theatre (Kettering) and Lighthouse Theatre (Warrnambool) also. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:17, 13 July 2018 (UTC)
- Support as proposed. The present disambiguation is good enough for "The Lighthouse" which means it's good enough for "Lighthouse".--Cúchullain t/c 17:16, 23 July 2018 (UTC)
