Overlap from Ty Warner page[edit]

Dear fellow Wikipedians - Some of the content in the Career at Ty section overlaps with content in the Ty Warner article from the Creating the World's First Internet Sensation section. This was a section that I added on that page and is what led me to create this page when content on the Ty Warner page was starting to be about another person. Same thing with the Internet Sensations page. Please note content of both pages were written by me and some sentences may be similar within the two sections.

Neutrality of tone[edit]

Hi, @Ronniebrown2: you should be careful to avoid purple prose: phrasing such as that which would be used in advertising to 'build up' a subject. Wikipedia should be a straight recording of facts and read as such. Otherwise, a great start to an article! Arlo James Barnes 22:27, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks @Arlo James Barnes: - I appreciate the review as this is my first article that I wrote after writing various sections of other pages and the first time anything I added to Wikipedia has received a review from another Wikipedian, so thank you! I tried to look up purple prose, but did not see that referenced anywhere, was the link cited correctly? I tried to be conscious of not writing marketing related content on pages here as sometimes normally would be found on a bio and on sources that I referenced to produce content here, but I am wondering if you can help me by pointing out sections that appears that way so I can maybe make some related edits? I did go through and make some modifications and will continue more as I am waiting for a review of this page. Thank you so much for your feedback! Birth[edit]

The article says «She is referred to as the woman who gave birth to the Internet», but also that she was born in 1973 — when “the Internet” was already in existence for five years. Tuvalkin (talk) 18:24, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The article was quoting a news piece that was referring to Internet commerce which the article was concluding today is the driving force of the Internet. Ronniebrown2 (talk) 11:45, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
