education[edit]

There is a lack of information here. Did she graduate from U of T? What was her degree in? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.51.31.65 (talk) 21:37, 22 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"comfortable middle class"[edit]

"comfortable", here, is a euphemism for wealthy. In Canada, we don't use the British sysyen of labeling classes, but Brankson Hall is a very expensive private school that very few people can afford to send their daughter to. Wikipedia articles should use accurate words rather than euphemisms. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.88.11.121 (talk) 00:19, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

MathPerson here: changed "comfortable" to "upper middle class", January 10, 2017 — Preceding unsigned comment added by MathPerson (talkcontribs) 05:01, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Themes[edit]

"Themes" summarizes McQuaig's books. An anonymous user wrote the comment, "do each of these books merit descriptions in an encyclopedia?". This anonymous user added a template, which says, "This section needs additional citations for verification. Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources."

I propose removing this template for two reasons. First, I'd say the summaries definitely belong here. Wikipedia pages for other authors (Margaret Atwood for just one example) often contain summaries of their works. If an encyclopedia isn't a good place for a compendium of this information, I don't know what is. Perhaps "Themes" is not the best title for this section, but that's a different issue.

Second, it is not clear that citations are needed for these book summaries. The books themselves could easily serve as citations for their own summaries.MathPerson (talk) 16:34, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A month has gone by since the last comment. There haven't been any further discussions or rebuttals, so I'm going to delete the template. MathPerson (talk) 02:46, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. Chief Thermodynamics (talk) 02:48, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
