I added the part about QE2's visit. The source text (among many) is http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/7685444.stm. I have tried added this as a source to the text but, as with many things that should be simple on Wikipedia, I can't figure out how to do it properly. If someone can add that link as a source then please do. Now I know why so much on Wikipedia is unsourced - it's because most people have no idea how to add sources! Thanks.--217.201.201.26 (talk) 11:07, 23 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lipizza/Lipica/Ital. Lipizza

[edit]

I think this article should have more on the name and country changes that occurred over the years. It redirects from Lipizza, but there is really no explanation why. Roan Art (talk) 21:42, 14 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The explanation is simple. "historians" claim that there was no "Slovenia" and "Slovenian people" since the Austro-Hungarian dominating empire at the time of the creation of "Lipizza" horse breed (which in reality existed as a native white horse breed already since the era of Veneti and Karantanians - i've read few Roman authors, so my source comes from there). The Article of Lipizzan horse on Wikipedia also ignorantly describing the history of lipizza horse as "spanish, austrian", not even mentioning the origin of the name and ignoring the Karantanian (Slovenian) cultural heritage. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.196.66.94 (talk) 07:40, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
