What is the specific neutrality dispute?

[edit]

Shouldn't the NPOV / disputed neutrality box be explained by the person who posted it? Specific points about neutrality should be made, otherwise the warning should be removed.--Chinawhitecotton 21:35, 21 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism without foundation.

[edit]

Bravo. Good point.

Liquica spelling?

[edit]

I am not sure I agree with the move to "Liquiçá Church Massacre" - according to whom is this the preferred spelling? the TL department of Tourism's map says Likisá - presumably the (or a) Tetun spelling. The CIA, for what it is worth, Uses "Liquica" as do most other sites and maps I found. --Chinawhitecotton 19:50, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That was me who moved it, perhaps a bit hastily (I notice I didn't change it in the article). My main reasoning was that the word is easier to pronounce correctly if it is written with the Portuguese accents. Both versions appear commonly in the media (as well as Liquiça). The Tetum name seems less common. The CIA seems to much prefer leaving out the accents of even well-established names (see Cote d'Ivoire, for instance). There is a discussion on the East Timor talk page about the spelling of the cities, districts, etc. We should figure out a standard and use it. (I also changed the city and district pages for Liquiçá and some other places in the country.)Rigadoun 18:54, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
