This article needs to be expanded. Areas that need coverage include Lisa Montgomery's early life, the motivation for the attack, details of the murder/arrest/trial, and current events as they unfold. Help please! --Biobaby89 20:56, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Basis for federal jurisdiction?

It would improve the article to include the basis of federal jurisdiction versus state of Kansas. There doesn't seem to be an obvious reason for a federal trial for murder or other included crime. If the crime was committed on a federal reservation: military post, fort, air base, navy base, federal forest, park, etc. it would make sense.--TGC55 (talk) 21:27, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

Montgomery lived in Kansas and travelled to Missouri to commit the murder. She then took the baby back to Kansas where she was apprehended. She was charged under the Federal Kidnapping Act with kidnapping resulting in death [1] - 84.51.182.71 (talk) 13:25, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Merge with Bobbie Jo Stinnett

There are currently two articles related to the murder of Bobbie Jo Stinnett - an article on the victim Bobbie Jo Stinnett and an article on the murderer Lisa M. Montgomery. This seems unusual - other articles on murders where the parties involved fulfill WP:BLP1E generally combine information on both the victim and the perp into a single article. I can't see why this one is treated differently - can anyone shed some light? - Jono 87.114.32.207 (talk) 05:52, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

The difference is that one of the articles fully is about Bobbie Jo, and the other one more so covers only partly the crime but mostly Lisa Montgomery. And in my opinion the articles shouldnt be merged.--BabbaQ (talk) 12:10, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
And if it would be merged Bobbie Joe Stinett should be merged into Lisa Montgomery because that article is better and also Lisa is the one that has been covered in media such as crime shows,tv, papers etc.--BabbaQ (talk) 12:13, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
My problem with the Bobbie Jo article is that most of the content is either (a) about her killer (and so would be more suited to the Montgomery article), or (b) about Bobbie Jo, but is already in the Montgomery article (and so is redundant). For example, the 3rd paragraph in the Bobbie Jo article details the kidnapping of the baby by Montgomery, the 4th is about Montgomery's visit, the 5th is about Montgomery's motivation, the 6th is about Montgomery trial and conviction, The final paragraph details a book already mentioned in the Montgomery article. The only unique content I see in the Bobbie Jo article details her discovery and attempted treatment (paragraph 2). In summary, there is very little about Bobbie Jo in the Bobbie Jo article and I can't see that changing. To me the Bobbie Jo article looks like a content fork of the Montgomery article, with an extra few details. Jono - 91.125.45.50 (talk) 13:53, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
Just letting you know that using more than one IP is not OK when trying to influence a merge or delete discussion. Thanks.--BabbaQ (talk) 20:49, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
To prevent further misunderstandings I will add my name to my posts as well. To get back on topic, do you have a response to my points above? - Jono 87.114.72.213 (talk) 03:27, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
Why are you using multiple IPs to respond. Use your original IP.--BabbaQ (talk) 12:00, 15 January 2012 (UTC)

Fixed Error

Someone put that if executed she would be the third woman executed since Ethel Rosenberg. A reference was posted, which stated she would be the third woman executed since 1927. The US Government has only executed 3 women period: Mary Surratt, who was hanged with the rest of the Lincoln conspirators, Ethel Rosenberg, and Bonnie Brown Heady, who was gassed in Missouri 6 months later. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 107.41.19.171 (talk) 07:31, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
