Cleanup and references needed[edit]

A list of just the actors (plus their year of birth, and TV/movies they were in) ) is simply a messy list. The page currently is all child actors ever (from the looks of it). A way to better format it: a section for child actors currently, and past child actors (people 18 or above that previously acted as a child). As for references: articles are one thing, but not enough. Each article listed on this list page should have a reference from another site, proving they exist and are notable. I don't think the list is messy but I agree that dividing this list into two separate sections would be better. Only actors and actresses that don't have an article of their own need references from another source/site in my opinion. Ik.pas.aan 14:58, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I created a list of former child actors and moved every actor who is now an adult to that list. Ik.pas.aan 10:13, 1 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming[edit]

Any objections to moving this article to List of current child actors? I think that title would be more appropriate now that the former child actors have been split off into their own list. --Fritz S. (Talk) 07:55, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would make more sense under List of current child actors. If this is a vote then I say go for it. Ospinad 04:07, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Talk:List of former child actors#Proposed rename as "American" where I have made a proposal to rename both these US-centric lists. I've taken account of the recommendation above. - Fayenatic (talk) 08:01, 21 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deceased Child Actors[edit]

Is it appropriate to place on this list the names of child actors who died while still in their childhood? (e.g. Heather O'Rourke and Judith Barsi). I noticed that O'Rourke's name was in the "former child actors" list, though she never reached adulthood. Akira 18:51, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think it would be more appropriate to put them under the "former child actors" since they are no longer acting. Ospinad 04:07, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What to do now?[edit]

Should we create lists for child actors from other countries? For example, List of current child actors from Canada etc. or List of current child actors not from the United States? Even the latter wouldn't be as long as what would be left in this list after removing all those not from the US. Or should we just remove them for now and forget about adding them anywhere? For An Angel (talk) 17:39, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes! Please add or at the end of each new list. Also add them to the relevant national sub-category of Category:Child actors by nationality, e.g. ". - Fayenatic (talk) 20:01, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I went through the entire List of current child actors from the United States and moved the ones not who are not American to their own lists. See all of the new subcategories under Category:Lists of child actors by nationality. Next I will go through Category:Child actors by nationality where I'm sure I will find many more that were just never added to this list in the first place. And I still haven't even touched List of former child actors from the United States, which is much longer. :-( For An Angel (talk) 04:25, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Good work! I had underestimated the number of non-Americans. I hope anyway that the separate lists will be more manageable and useful. Do you think that lists by region or by continent rather than by nationality might be more useful? - Fayenatic (talk) 21:57, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think the way they are is fine, they just have to be populated. For An Angel (talk) 22:24, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

People aged 16-17 are hardly children so why are they listed as child actors?

I mean surly if someone started their acting carear at age 16-17 they wouldn't be definded has a former "child actor". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.104.223.244 (talk) 18:53, 26 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal: Removing examples of works[edit]

I propose the removal of the bulleted examples of the actors' works. It's a cruft magnet. Some entries have 15 examples or more. This isn't the place for that, as it's intended to be a simple list. Presumably most of these actors' articles will contain filmographies. I mean, frankly, these lists probably shouldn't exist at all since they could easily be handled with a simple category. For precedent, see List of former child actors from the United States.

Alternative proposal: Limit the number of examples to 3. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:28, 24 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Move discussion in progress[edit]

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:List of former child actors from the United States which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 17:46, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Boldface[edit]

Please see the discussion about boldface formatting that I have begun at Talk:List of former child actors from the United States#Boldface regarding the use of boldface in these lists. —BarrelProof (talk) 17:48, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

McKenna Grace[edit]

I'm confused. This section says "Update after 6-25-2026". She's still 17 years old. In June 2024, she'd reach 18 years old. Can somebody explain this? Thanks. Janlanuzo (talk) 21:57, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Child actors who are 17 and under[edit]

Listen up! If anyone of you keeps adding these articles of former child actors that are over 18, they will be removed by any means necessary. I'm serious, okay? This is the page that features child actors that are 17 and under only! You shouldn't have done that! I suggest you go to List of American former child actors page. They are no longer performing as child actors. Most of the child actors are minors. Some of them almost turn 18. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for understanding and have a nice day.
