Purpose?

Why do we have both this list and List of Irish Americans?

They have been nearly identical since 14 July 2011 editorial work on the other version by User:Hmains, mainly "(cur | prev) 04:07, 14 July 2011‎ Hmains (talk | contribs)‎ . . (49,199 bytes) (-89,636)‎ . . (standard format for such lists) (undo)"
