A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on September 7, 2009.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that several Armillaria species are bioluminescent?

Add Monster mushroom A. ostoyae?[edit]

An article from Sunday 06 August 2000 with the title Oregon's monster mushroom is world's biggest living thing says that there is a giant honey fungus that now covers 2,200 acres (880 hectares) of the Malheur National Forest, in eastern Oregon. People described as experts have done tests and determined (it says) that this huge example is Armillaria ostoyae which is a species not on this list. I am not a biologist but the article appears authoritative. I would suggest it should be added to the list but do not feel qualified to do so myself. Iph (talk) 03:38, 27 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
