Episode titles?[edit]

I'd assume the scripts or production notes, but I don't see how these would be released to the general public. Unless it's a crew member editing this page :p But it's not like they're malicious, so I don't see the problem in keeping the titles until we get new information :) ~~Lazyguythewerewolf . The episodes are not titled, nor were they ever supposed to be. I write from a position of authority as one of the series writers , and I'm very irritated that the editor of these articles has taken it upon himself to give them spurious titles. If I knew how to do it, I'd delete them, but my attempts have so far failed. Maybe someone can help me out and make these entries more accurate? The Other MG, 13/03/08

Without being funny, you're talking bollocks, if anyone is interested last time I checked these episode titles were available on the Radio Times website, which we can assume is pretty official as it is part of the BBC's commercial branch. Benv-b92 03:47, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The titles should all be changed back to just "Episode #" as used on the BBC sites. Even the Life on Mars episode titles are currently wrong. They source a site called DigiGuide, but that site is fan made and in no way official. —MJBurrage^(T•C) 04:47, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like the source for the "episode names" for Ashes to Ashes is DigiGuide.com, and apparently they were just made up by a fan. They have since also been used on torrent sites, and here in Wikipedia, but there is nothing on any BBC related site that uses them. Table without episode names[edit]

I have moved the episode pages away from the unofficial names, and so to me it seems that it would be better if the table on this page did not refer to names at all, and simply used links from episode numbers to link to the episode pages. The best I can manage is this:

The way it is now actually works fine, "Episode 1" etc are the names of the episodes as used by the BBC. One small problem is that there is going to be a second series, which will reuse the same names. For this reason I moved the Life on Mars episodes to names such as Series 1: Episode 3 (Life on Mars). I appreciate the trouble you've taken to correct the information. I increasingly rely on Wikipedia's veracity, so am keen to correct misinformation where I see it. Particularly when it refers to a project in which I have an interest, I'm not ashamed to admit! The Other MG, 04/04/08

Cleanup of this article and proposed merge of Episode 1 (Ashes to Ashes)[edit]

A core policy is that Wikipedia is not for plot summaries. Articles on a work of fiction must primarily describe it from a real-world perspective, discussing its reception, impact and significance. The plot summary must be trimmed down to a single paragraph and the trivia must be removed entirely. If this cannot be done the article should be merged with List of Ashes to Ashes episodes. Otherwise the article is open to being nominated for outright deletion and all the content will be lost.

Even then episode lists articles must still be notable, and contain out-of-universe context, and not merely be a list of episode titles or cast and crew: Wikipedia is not a directory.

Support I intended to make a similar merge proposal eventually, but I am still busy going after the low-hanging fruit (i.e. totally bad and unimprovable episode articles). It would make perfect sense to merge the Reception section into Ashes to Ashes (TV series); the rest is a huge plot summary and in-universe trivia that doesn't need coverage in the LoE beyond a few lines. As always, if someone is able to improve this article via addition of substantial real-world info (it don't know if it exists), this support merge !vote is void. BTW, the writer, director and airdate is usually regarded as enough out-of-universe information to support a separate LoE list (although it's possible to cover shorter LoEs in the main article). – sgeureka ^t•c 13:47, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Details of future episodes[edit]

I know this is a series about time travel, but nevertheless I'm surprised to see summaries for episodes that haven't aired yet. At best it's odd, at worst irritating if they're not hidden by spoiler tags. Any objection to me removing the S02E02 summary while we're waiting for it to actually broadcast? I know there are people who haven't seen this episode yet, but it's at the beginning and doesn't reveal any plot developments.

Episode Titles - New[edit]

Ok, so I've read through this discussion page and I have a question. Are the episode titles fan made or not? At the time of this writing all of series 1 and 2 and episode 3 of series 3 have titles, but nothing else does. If anyone is still watching this Talk Page, in America the episodes are given the "fake" titles in the tv guide, so they are not fan made.
