Name
[edit]I suggest we move this page to List of underground stations in Brussels. Julien Tuerlinckx 14:04, 19 February 2006 (UTC)
- I disagree. The page title should be consistent with the others in Category:Lists of metro stations. So List of Brussels metro stations would be ideal. Or alternatively List of Brussels metro and pre-metro stations (following the conventions of the Berlin and Baltimore names). Calling it underground (instead of metro) would be confusing. --David Edgar 15:02, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
- Then it should be List of Brussels metro and premetro stations as only metro is also confusing. Julien Tuerlinckx 22:53, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
- Now moved to that name. --David Edgar (talk) 15:12, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Maps
[edit]Someone more familiar with the railway might want to put together diagrams of the lines (from 2009) using the Wikipedia:Route diagram template. I don't know enough about the sidings and where it is above or underground to put it together.- J Logan t: 13:39, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Oh, and what I am thinking is maybe having separate pages for the three lines, disarams showing the order and have the list of stations as one long sortable table alphabetically. What do people think?- J Logan t: 18:16, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
- I have started the template for Line 5, and might soon do the others.

Merge
[edit]Stations and lines has exactly the same data, I propose we merge them.- J.Logan`t: 18:13, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- I support that. - SSJ ☎ 19:54, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- Since no one opposes this decision, I'll merge the pages Manneken Pis (talk) 07:41, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
Bilingual names of the stations
[edit]For some unknown reason, Maelbeek/Maalbeek station and Arts-Loi/Kunst-Wet station are the only ones of the Brussels metro where the Dutch names ("Maalbeek" and "Kunst-Wet")are written before the French ones ("Maelbeek" and "Arts-Loi"). As a reminder, Maelbeek metro station is now (unfortunately!) famous because of Brussels terrorist attacks, and Arts-Loi is the most frequented station of the network: those two stations are therefore the most "famous" stations of the Brussels metro network.
Surprisingly, the changes in the names happened a few days ago, both made by one user. The same user edited the 2016 Brussels bombings article to make sure only the Dutch name "Maalbeek" appears in the article.
Is there any discussion somewhere about the name convention for the Brussels metro station names? As for all the other station the "French name/Dutch name" convention is used, shouldn't we standardize it that way? MisterQ (talk) 17:57, 26 March 2016 (UTC)
