Wikify[edit]

I would love it anyone out there could wikify even one entry on this rather long list. I don't want to give any intructions, since that's not really in the spirit of the project, but here are a couple things to think about before you edit.

The schools are named the way they are for a reason. Particularly, I've used a minimum of abreviations, since there are so many that can stand for multiple schools. For instance, both South Carolina and Southern California are called USC. Also, if you change one Texas Christian to a TCU without changing them all, that makes the list inconsistent.
If you wikify somebody's name, check to see that it's linking to the proper man, and not some other personality with the same name. If an article exists for a John Doe but not the one you're looking for, link it to John Doe (football) even if that link is dead. With any luck someone will be encouraged to write the article we need.

If you do create/edit any page for any of the coaches on this list, please make sure that you add the Category:College Football Hall of Fame tag to the page. I have gone through all of the existing pages and added this tag. Thanks! Deejayk 03:15, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Formatting suggestions[edit]

Any thoughts on turning this into a table for better readability? Also, what about a separate page that lists coaches sorted by school or by HOF class year? PSUMark2006 17:42, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New field in infobox[edit]

I have added the field CollegeHOFID to Template:Infobox college coach (talk links edit). In that field should be the ID from the CFB HOF website. Please try to add this field to all the coaches in this article. Some don't even have an infobox yet so that needs to be rectified as well.--NMajdan•talk 14:24, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template?[edit]

Would it be worth it to create a template that would take the CFBHOF web site ID and create a link to the appropriate bio without having to duplicate the URL multiple times? For example, perhaps {{CFB HOF|50017|1989}} could create [http://www.collegefootball.org/famersearch.php?id=50017 1989]. Thoughts? — PSUMark2006 talk | contribs 04:42, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
