Gloria Henry maternity leave for 9 episodes in 2nd season[edit]

I have seen that Kathleen Mulqueen is appearing on 8, not 9, episodes (Mr. Mitchell's mother, staying with the Mitchells while Alice is gone), so apparently is absent from 1 of those 9 episodes. I don't know where those short clips of then-absent Alice appeared.

Gloria Henry presumably could NOT have a baby worked into that show, because comic-strip Dennis had no siblings that I know of. (This contrasts with Lucy on I Love Lucy and Samantha on Bewitched.) I have not seen it stated that this (Dennis the Menace) show worked around Gloria Henry's pregnancy; I did see it stated about Barbara Eden on I Dream of Jeannie, which had no baby in its script.

There was, however, a presumed later departure from the comic strip caused by death of Joseph Kearns, who played George Wilson. As you see, George and his wife, Martha, were written out of the show, which was joined at that time by John Wilson (George's brother) and his wife, Eloise. On http://www.dennistvshow.com/trivia.php , I have seen that there was indeed a workaround of Gloria Henry's pregnancy. Carlm0404 (talk) 16:00, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, I just checked the wikipedia page for the COMIC STRIP and find this: John Wilson is Mr. Wilson's brother. Eloise Wilson is John's wife, Mr. Wilson's sister-in-law.

I never knew John and Eloise Wilson as appearing in the comic strip. So that's where those character names on the TV show's last year come from? I am still thinking that moving into George Wilson's home would not have been in the comic strip. Carlm0404 (talk) 17:02, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

John and Eloise Wilson[edit]

See above item about Gloria Henry maternity leave. It digresses to arrival on the show of the John and Eloise Wilson characters. Those characters are noted as being mentioned in the wikipedia article about the comic strip. Carlm0404 (talk) 17:12, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
