Lydia and Bryan

Are these two characters actually "contract" rather than recurring? Has it been confirmed? and is Jay recurring rather than contract? How long are they staying for? I do admit that this is not like American soaps where they formally announce the status of each actor on the show (contract or recurring) in the magazines.

BTW, is Lydia's name confirmed as Esteller in the magazines? Not to be rude or anything, it does not seem to be a proper English last name if you know what I mean. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.12.244.85 (talkcontribs) 25 December 2006, 18:08 (UTC)

Well, this is England, and they don't make specific announcements; so we're doing it by the way they're shown. And it was seen as Esteller on screen. Trampikey (talk to me)(contribs) 20:49, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

If it was seen on screen as Esteller, how come it's been changed to Asler? I thought we used on-screen continuity rather than official website continuity. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 00:32, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Rhys said it, so we don't know how it's spelt or if the actor mispronounced it; so we'll use the website as the source of her surname, as "Asler" and "Esteller" sound similar. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 00:45, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Fair enough. You said it was seen. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 00:49, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Oops. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 18:28, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

Kevin Wicks

Has he departed or is he coming back?? It looked like he'd gone but nothing had been announced... — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 00:32, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

He's coming back. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 18:28, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Shame. — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 22:15, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
Why? I like him. :) Ekantik talk 06:10, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
I was only joking :) — AnemoneProjectors (talk) 14:41, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Order?

Is it possible to list these characters in alphabetical order (surname-wise by character)? Or if some other reason is being used please inform me of it. Thanks. Ekantik talk 06:10, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

They are in the order in which they joined the show - fairly obvious when you look at the top of the list :-) Stephenb (Talk) 13:53, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Jean Slater

Is Jean going to be a regular character starting this week as under Characters "J" where they added the profile for Jay, it looks like they are already building a profile for Jean.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/eastenders/eastenders/characters/a-z/list_character_j.shtml

Stuart Laing

I'm awaiting confirmation on this, but apparently on GMTV they said that Stuart Laing is leaving when his contract expires in May... -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 20:07, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

i hope they make Dawn leave with him. Gungadin 21:19, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
I hope Amanda Drew is staying though because she's the best actress in it at the moment. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 23:17, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
The best actress is Laurie Brett in my opinion. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 23:35, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
And the worst actor is........... need I even ask? — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 23:49, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Carly and Dawn tie for worst actress in my opinion. Gungadin 23:51, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
The worst actor (in my opinion) is Phil Daniels by a mile. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 23:59, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Charlie Jones. Despise him with a passion. RECAST! RECAST! Also, Phil Daniels has gone waaaay downhill! -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 00:06, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Well I can forgive Charlie Jones for being bad because he's just a kid, but Phil Daniels is an experienced actor. Burn Gorman and Linda Henry both really showed him up the other day. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 00:14, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Yeah they did. Stuart Laing isn't that good either, a bit like an old male version of Jade Sharif! -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 00:27, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Adam Woodyatt

Are these reliable enough sources? http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/3879 http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news_detail.html?sku=1517AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 14:55, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Seems to have been officially denied.[1] Gungadin 15:57, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
Seems to have been officially denied. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/a44981/eastenders-deny-ian-beale-death-storyline.html. Oh that's what you just said. Never mind. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 16:29, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

Recurring

How do we define recurring characters? — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 19:10, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Those who come and go. Like Victor Brown used to. Not regular characters.Gungadin 19:16, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Jean and Hazel are recurring because they come and go. Tracy and Winston appear sporadically and very rarely get any dialogue, and Olive (it sounds like) is going to be recurrent until this "big storyline" with Peggy... -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 19:26, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Does Hazel come and go? So far she's come once and gone once. Olive has only just come but yes she probably will be recurring for now, like Stella Crawford was originally. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 20:01, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
I havent heard anything about Hazel coming back (yet). Aunt Sal is technically a recurring character too. Even if she does come and go every 4 or five years lol.Gungadin 20:06, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Hazel's going to be like Jean: [2] -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 20:10, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Oh good I like her. They should bring Mandy Salter back for a Bad Girls reunion, lol. Although that might cause problems seeing as her mum has now become Shirley Wicks. Gungadin 20:14, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Carter! - that's one thing that really annoys me - how characters get called Dot Cotton, Pat Butcher and Shirley Wicks! Also, I think they should get four brothers like the Kings in Emmerdale, and maybe Ebony Thomas as Denise's sister (and Sarah Jayne Dunn!) -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 20:18, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Hazel Hobbs reminds me of Belinda Peacock. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 20:20, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Lol, I didn't even know her name was Carter. I dont pay much attention the the current character pages.Gungadin 20:25, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Actually, she reminds me of Belinda too. I meant to say above that I think they should get four brothers like the Kings in Emmerdale because the show has so many strong female characters and not enough male ones, especially with Roxy and Ronnie coming in. Just no more gangsters! -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 20:27, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Four hot gay brothers? — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 20:41, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
In your dreams. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 20:48, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

I hope they bring back some good past characters and axe Dawn and Carly...and Deano and Kevin.. Chelsea too...and Kieth, Micky, Gus and Sean.Gungadin 20:39, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

I disagree with Mickey and Chelsea. Carly, Deano and Kevin need to go. Keith is OK, I think, but I wouldn't miss him. Gus neither, but I think he'd be really good if he interacted with other characters more, then they gave him a girlfriend and testicular cancer! I'm indifferent about Dawn, too. I want to see what happens with the baby though! Joe Swash is such an underrated actor, he's actually really good and has great chemistry with Elaine Tan. Tiana Benjamin has excellent comedy timing, and it sounds like Sean's met his match in her - it sounds like some great scenes are coming up with them! [3] I want Demi Miller, Steven Beale and Simon Wicks to return. And any members of the Beale/Fowler/Flaherty family. It would be great if they remembered Harry or Dora and brought one of them in... Steven Beale would have to be either gay, or a right tearaway! He could get together with Demi if he was straight, though. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 20:48, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
I like Kevin - one of the most decent characters they've had on EE for years. But that's by-the-by, this is not an EE discussion forum, and this discussion page should be used for discussion of the article! Stephenb (Talk) 16:27, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Spoilers?

Does the inclusion of the "Departing" and "Soon to join" sections of this page constitute spoilers? If so, shouldn't there be an appropriate tag? I say this because some anon has moved Stella to the "departing" list; I have no idea whether this is true, but if so, it rather spoils the potential future plotlines Stephenb (Talk) 10:57, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

It's unsourced and therefore has been removed. In response to your queary about spoiler tags - I'm of the opinion that they shouldn't be used on a list, and there's no place for them on articles as we only add events to articles after they happen. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 14:55, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
Err, surely "Soon to depart" additions are made *before* they depart (and are therefore spoilers)? 195.82.123.61 12:46, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
It's obvious from the names of the sections that they refering to events that have not yet happened, therefore no spoiler warning is required. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 20:59, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Not so - the departing are removed from the current cast - therefore, when someone reads the top of the article and notices (for instance) Ian missing, that is effectively a spoler *outside* of the "soon to depart" section... 195.82.123.61 18:31, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
So you want a spoiler tag at the top of the page? — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 22:28, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Gus Smith

I moved Gus Smith from Departing to Soon to return because he has now left EastEnders for 2 months but this was not shown on screen. As he was suspend on 28.03.2007 with immediate effect and EE is filmed six weeks ahead , he has now left and will return end of June. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mansoor1989 (talkcontribs)

I have reverted this as it can not be verifyed and is WP:OR. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 11:10, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

John Bardon

Following his stroke, should we move him to departing, as he's bound to have a break, or wait for official confirmation that he's leaving/taking a break? -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 09:25, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

I think we should play it by ear and wait it out until something official drops Conquisdator2k6(talk) 12:10, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

According to the report I read they're going to refilm some scenes and he may not return for a few months. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 21:43, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
BBC News says it's a suspected stroke. Perhaps tabloid reports are exaggerated? — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 17:43, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
I think we need a more reliable source before moving him to departing. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 20:31, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Well it's just common sense that he's not going to just go back to work straight away after a stroke. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 20:48, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
But it might be a short enough time for the character not to depart from the show. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 23:05, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Dean/Deano

Deano was credited as Dean last night. Shall we change this on the articles? -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 20:27, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Do you study the credits of every episode? I think we should wait and see if they credit him as Dean again. He's still Deano at the official site and he's still known as Deano to the viewers. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 23:09, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

Olive

Should Olive have an article of her own? Right now she seems a bit of insignificent recurring character but its been confirmed that she'll be a big part of some big storyline with Peggy so could be quite important in the future. Deserving of an article perhaps? --Sparhelda 17:39, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

Feel free to add her to List of minor EastEnders characters 2005-present if you want.Gungadin 17:55, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Hmmmm Sparhelda 19:10, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
Or alternatively, you could make her an article and then sit back and watch as someone else merges it into List of minor EastEnders characters 2005-present, lol.Gungadin 19:18, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
But recurring characters are allowed articles of their own aren't they? ¬_¬ --Sparhelda 21:13, 23 June 2007 (UTC)
She's only been in it once. Put her in the minor characters page if you want and expand/split in the future if necessary. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 17:19, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Talking of recurring characters, is Verity due to appear again before May's departure? — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 17:23, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Williams

Anyone care to explain this? Whatever it is must have missed it. Sparhelda 20:08, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

New characters, Rainie and Craig

These two new character ARE real and will be arriving within the next couple of weeks. Source: - Inside Soap Magazine dated 7-13 July. So please stop deleating them from the soon to join section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Badgirlsfan (talkcontribs)

It was removed because no source was provided. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 10:28, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
They're not real because it's a work of fiction. Trampikey don't you read Inside Soap as well? — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 19:32, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
I do, but haven't bought the latest issue yet, however, online sources have been provided :) -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 21:27, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
I meant they are REAL in the sense that they are not fake names that people have just posted.

Cindy Williams

I was just wondering if we should place Cindy Williams as definitely coming to the show? The article is quoting Michelle Collins talking on Loose Women, saying that one of her daughter's classmate was testing for the role. But Michelle is not. The BBC may decide to scrap the storyline or go in another direction. Has there not been any concrete confirmation concerning this new character elsewhere, like the BBC? I know that Digital Spy is reliable, but Kris is just quoting something he saw on television.

It's also been confirmed by Sharon Marshall on This Morning. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 10:11, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Heather Graham

I just wanted to show a source that the character of Heather Graham has been confirmed as a semi-regular character so I think her name should be moved to recurring.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/a65356/summer-preview-eastenders.html

She's as regular as Jay Brown was before he became a regular so I think she should not be considered a recurring character. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 14:26, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
She's also more regular than the glorified props that are Summer Swann and Janet Mitchell... and Bobby Beale for that matter. They should be recurring characters. We don't have to go by EastEnders standards on who is considered regular/semi-regular etc. — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 14:33, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

I think Heather, Bobby, Janet and Summer should all be classed as regular. Recurring (IMO) means that they pop up every few months, like Jean, Hazel, Mr. Andrews etc. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 19:05, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Basically we should leave it as it is but move Heather back to the regulars! — AnemoneProjectors (zomg!) 20:20, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Surely you should go by EastEnders standards - otherwise your posting the wrong information on the page —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.207.214.132 (talkcontribs)

It's not wrong information. Although, she hasn't been in it for a while, maybe she has become a less frequent character now. She was quite frequent at the time. — AnemoneProjectors (I can't help it if I've got a natural curl to my hair!) 22:54, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
She's back soon, she's got a cast card and promotional pictures, which Winston, Tracy, Hazel etc. don't have. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 14:10, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
Is the cast card available online anywhere? — AnemoneProjectors (?) 15:12, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
I dunno, her promo picture has just been released on BBC Pics, so it may only be obtainable by writing to Cheryl Fergison. Jean's got a new promo too. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 09:46, 14 August 2007 (UTC)

Dates on the character section

The above statement: "Dates do not need to be provided in the list, individual dates and information is available in the articles for individual characters!" i think should be deleated and dates SHOULD be included on the list. All the other soaps have dates provided on both the character list AND the individual list, so why should EastEnders be any different —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.207.214.132 (talkcontribs)

I dont have a strong view on this. I'm not opposed to dates being included if that's what everyone wants. I cant really see the harm in including them, except that it may look messy for those characters who keep coming and going. I dont care either wayGungadin 15:42, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
I think it's better without them, and the formatting of the tables was also better before. — AnemoneProjectors (I can't help it if I've got a natural curl to my hair!) 13:55, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
I think the dates should be included, as well as the other table format, because it looks much tider. And with you past comment about not having the dates included, the same could be said about the "previous actors" section. People can see who used to play the certain characters on the individual pages. So if the dates aren't included, then neither should the previous actors section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.209.93.202 (talkcontribs)
The previous actors were added because the category for EastEnders actors was deleted and we didn't have a complete cast list. The dates don't need to be included. The table format is tidy as is it. — AnemoneProjectors (I can't help it if I've got a natural curl to my hair!) 17:42, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Questions

Can someone put pictures of Summer Swann, Heather Graham and Zainab Masood and Mr. Masood's frist name, also is Olive comming back.

Images are not always available but perhaps Gungadin would be kind enough to upload some. Mr Masood's first name is not known. I don't know about Olive but I hope so, seeing as she was described as "mysterious", etc. — AnemoneProjectors (?) 18:57, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

How old is Tamwar Masood?

When is Criag Dixon Leaving?

Is Cindy Willams Jr or Sr returning?

Does Jack Branning have a wife or kids?

We do not know. This isn't a forum. Why not keep watching the show and find out? — AnemoneProjectors (?) 17:33, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Bobby Davro

Digital Spy are reporting Bobby Davro will play Shirley's lover, Vince [4]. (Ugh!) I've not added it as DS can sometimes be unreliable. Stephenb (Talk) 08:42, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Ah, I see the BBC are now reporting it! Stephenb (Talk) 10:47, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

DS have never been unreliable in my experience, they're a very good source. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 12:28, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Carly/Darren

Has Carly gone gone and is Darren coming back? I thought I'd ask now that Trampikey is back temporarily because he's bound to know! — AnemoneProjectors (会話) 10:31, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Carly's back in a couple of weeks, Darren should be back also, probably before her... -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 11:00, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
Good. — AnemoneProjectors (会話) 11:30, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Steven

On Walford Web they're saying its been confirmed Steven's coming back, something about the RT write up. Anybody got more info on this? (Nothing about him being the stalker BTW, just that hes apparently coming back) Sparhelda 17:30, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

He's not being played by "Steven Gellar" of "Bootleg fame" is he? (Google it!) :-) Stephenb (Talk) 07:26, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

On Digital Spy, they have just published a picture and a story that confirms it is Stephen, but when you click on it it says Page cannot be found. Maybe They published it by accident and then took it off 69.28.232.206 23:19, 23 September 2007 (UTC) samusek2

Found it, the information is correct. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/a76233/first-look-steven-beale-walks-back-into-walford.html 69.28.232.206 23:26, 23 September 2007 (UTC) samusek2

Aunt Sal

it is revealed on walford webcam for the 18 0ctober 2007 that she will be returning around christmas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Magicste (talkcontribs) 20:56, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

Sayid Masood

Someone has created Sayid Masood - is he definitely joining the show or can we redirect the page and remove all the links to it? anemone|projectors 17:27, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Bianca is returning in the spring...

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/a78673/patsy-palmer-returns-to-eastenders.html

I surmise she will return with a bunch of new kids. However I read a few years ago, that she would never return full time. I wonder if this has anything to do with Natalie Cassidy's imminent return? 69.90.207.228 00:56, 29 October 2007 (UTC) samusek2

Yay! I loved Bianca.Gungadin 01:20, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
She could at least have the decency to go to her cousin's wedding! anemone|projectors 19:04, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Jim Branning

It is not confirmed that John Bardon will ever return to the show, the stroke storyline is simply there in case he decides to return. I suggest treating Jim as a past character and if he does decide to return, then move him to the returning section. See news story from my local paper out today. anemone|projectors 19:46, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Ahhh, how sad! poor old Jim. I agree with you, treat him as past.Gungadin 20:00, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Rainie Cross

I just was reading the BBC Press office write ups for Week 2 and for Eastenders on Tuesday It says "Tanya is upset by the return of her sister", so Rainie Cross returns to Walford on Monday or Tuesday of that week. 69.90.207.137 (talk) 17:34, 6 December 2007 (UTC) samusek2

Extras

Extras such as Tracey and Winston are listed as recurring characters. Should you contact the BBC and ask if they are classified as recurring characters, you will be told no, they are simply extras. They should not be listed as recurring characters.

Rachel Branning, Aunt Sal and various police officers are classified as recurring as they have storylines, their dialogue and appearances are essential to the script. Saying "Orange juice, yes?" 3 times a year does not qualify someone as a recurring character. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eefan (talkcontribs) 12:59, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

They are recurring characters - if they were just extras, you wouldn't have heard of them! They have each had speaking parts and have been in the show for years - you don't get extras doing that often in any show! Tracy, for instance, was knocked out in the Vic in one storyline, and Winston has had a couple of storylines, too. They are characters, and they recur. End of. Stephenb (Talk) 13:17, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Plus, who said there were any particular qualifying criteria? Stephenb (Talk) 13:20, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
Stephenb is right. anemoneprojectors 14:27, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

In which case - Michael Leader plays the Milkman. He bought Kat Slater home once, can we include him? He's been around since episode 1. Harry Holland plays Harry. He has a stall on the market, had a fair bit of dialogue in 2004 and 2005, scenes with Billy and Alfie. Still around to this day. Martha Ross, a stallholder, can she be added to past characters? Dialogue in 2004 with Dot & Pauline, a row with Chrissie once. Then there's Ina, had an affair with Bert whilst he was with her mate Mo Harris. She's also a stallholder. Marie in the Cafe too. They're as much characters as Tracey and Winston, they have dialogue, they have names, they've had stories, they've been around a while. All qualifying criteria apparently. :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eefan (talkcontribs) 12:46, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

They are totally different and you know it. anemoneprojectors 13:36, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
Can't we just add a separate section for supporting artists or extras? I quite like the idea of listing the regular ones somewehere, and EEFan seems to know them all. Gungadin 16:53, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
Yeah we can do that. Should Tracy and Winston go with them or not? Actually, thinking about it, we do include Sylvia Weng Chung in the minor characters pages, and she was less important than Winston... so yeah. anemoneprojectors 18:36, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
I think Winston and Tracy should be classed as extras. The BBC site has them down as extras [5][6] I don't think any others need profiles on the minor character lists though, do you? We have Sylvia, but she was a little different. She was introduced as a new character and simply not given any of her own storylines. She did have regular dialogue. People like Nigel and Ricky used to sniff around her, and she was involved in Kathy's breakup with Richard Cole from what I remember.--Gungadin 15:41, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
Okay, they can be extras. No the others don't need profiles, the most they ever really say is "thanks" and shit like that. I didn't know that about Sylvia, I guess I haven't paid that much attention to her section in the lists! I thought she was just someone who served customers in the cafe like the one who works there now. Oh well. anemoneprojectors 16:57, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
They did have someone like that before Sylvia, and she was actually called Mrs Weng-Chung. She was always just serving or cooking in the cafe and never said anything. I wonder if Sylvia was meant to be related to her.Sylvia was just as pointless really, but she did speak.Gungadin 19:27, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
Oh right, maybe I'm thinking of her instead. anemoneprojectors 23:15, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

So, shall a section for the more regular (sometimes referred and spoken to) extras be added then? It seems the majority here agree that Tracey and Winston are classified as extras. Peggy was moaning to Michael Leader (the Milkman) about the charity money thief this week. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eefan (talkcontribs) 15:34, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

yeh, I think we'll all be happy with that.Gungadin 20:21, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, go ahead. Although only Tracy and Winston need to be wikilinked. anemoneprojectors 21:07, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

Mrs Patel

i dont think were going to see her again... time for her to go from the list? shes not been seen or mentioned since a couple of weeks before christmas. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eefan (talkcontribs) 17:04, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Tegs and co

Anyone catch the names of the actors that played the others in the gang? Should we put them all in the minor characters list? anemoneprojectors 20:05, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Departing Characters

To me the fact that departing characters are not also placed in the Present Characters section does not make sense. Why can their names not be in both. A lot of the time they do not leave on screen for many months, for instance Sean Slater who will not leave until the end of 2008. Yes he is departing, but he's still part of the Present Cast. Is there a a specific reason why they're not included in both sections? 62.136.110.80 (talk) 18:46, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

That is why the "Departing characters" section is a subsection of the "present characters" section. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 18:50, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Sorry, that didn't occur to me. Thanks for clearing that up. 84.67.5.96 (talk) 18:15, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Hazel Hobbs

Has she gone for good now? Gungadin 20:53, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Nothing's confirmed. I've heard rumours she'll be back. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 21:06, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
From what I've heard, she will be back- I think it would be best to move her to recurring characters for now? "ThaGazBoi"(talk)(contribs) 23:40, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

Returning characters

  • Max Branning goes between Libby Fox and Tanya Branning.
  • Denise Wicks goes between Chelsea Fox and Libby Fox.
  • Jim Branning goes between Ben Mitchell and Billy Mitchell.
  • Janine Evans goes between Ricky Butcher and Phil Mitchell.
  • May Wright goes between Janet Mitchell and Shirley Carter.
  • Suzy Branning goes between Ben Mitchell/Jim Branning and Billy Mitchell.

(Just for me to remember) -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 11:53, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Brenda and Ted/ Maggie?

Where is the source for these two characters? They have been on the last few days and when I click on the actor's names, I get nowhere. Carmel Cryan links to some unassociated dead actor. Should these two "upcoming characters" be taken off as vandalism?

Also, what about Maggie, Bradley's boss? I haven't seen her on this list.76.67.136.247 (talk) 16:42, 1 June 2008 (UTC)samusek2

Brenda and Ted are the upcoming love interests for Jean and Charlie. The source is Inside Soap, but I'm not sure of the issue number/page etc., so I didn't add a reference. I'll add Maggie to the list. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 17:16, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I do not have that issue yet. However, If I may make a suggestion, I would take off the brackets for the actors or make new ones as the actor pages currently linked to the actors linked for Brenda and Ted are most likely not the two that will be on the show. They would not be suitable actors to play those roles lol76.67.136.247 (talk) 04:24, 2 June 2008 (UTC) samusek2

The actor links are accurate. However, Carmel Cryan's redirects to her dead husband, as she's seemingly not notable enough to have her own. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 20:41, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

General move about

I moved the tables around so that the tables were all in sections that best fit them, if it looks too crappy just move them back, i'm not usually much of an editor to this page :) steveking89 21:52, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Guest Characters

I think it's a bit mcuh to have Guest Characters/Extras and Reccurring Characters all in one. It's a soap not a American drama, therfore why don't you include the guest characters i nthe recurring section because at the moment that is what they are, if they arne't part of the cast and they are higher than an extra, they are reccurring. I jsut think it looks silly having a guest sectio nthere, when it's essentially the same as recurring. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.154.122.189 (talk) 10:53, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

It's not the same. A recurring character is a guest character who returns to the show intermitently (like Aunt Sal and Rachel Branning). Guest characters are minor characters who are there as part of a storyline, then leave, which is why there are two separate sections. -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 15:10, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Agreed. Not sure why EEfan removed the Extras section, either, since the article should include the (very well known) characters of Tracey and Winston at least. The other "named extras" I'm less keen on keeping, since very few are well-known (they don't have any article description to speak of, since they have not been involved in any storylines, and do not have any real characterisation, unlike the other two). Stephenb (Talk) 09:00, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
I'm not keen on the extras section either - but Tracy and Winston need somewhere to go! -Trampikey(talk)(contribs) 20:47, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Discussion

Just wondering whether or not this page could be cleared up or archived. Such things as the Kevin Wicks section, whether or not he was returning back in February last year is now obsolete as he died on NYE last year. I just think a clear-up would be good?
