Monobook black and green backgroud

[edit]

I cant seems to see the text under the mono book skin with the black and green background enabled. When I highlight the area where the text is I can see it. Im not sure if its just my computer or the article, but I'm not sure how to fix it. Any ideas? Creation7689 (talk) 20:01, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Monkey death numbers?

[edit]

This article does not mention how many monkeys died.--220.245.49.25 (talk) 23:42, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect information on timeline, says something about first time Congo involved in 200-, actually it was first reported in Congo(Zaire) immediately after it first popped up in the neighboring region

[edit]

Why is this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:8:9E00:469:E9D4:CA79:68EF:A278 (talk) 10:47, 31 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Where outbreaks have occurred

[edit]

IMO we should only be listed were cases were acquired not were they may have moved to afterwards. Others thoughts? Doc James (talk · contribs · email) (if I write on your page reply on mine) 09:34, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I see what you're saying, but It makes little difference either way when the current outbreak appears to be the first international one. Maybe we could differentiate Guinea from the others with indentation, size, italics, or something else. JamesDouch (talk) 12:32, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Separate articles for 1976 outbreaks?

[edit]

Does anyone else think the 1976 Zaire and Sudan outbreaks warrant their own article in addition to being included in this list? There's significant information out there about both, and they were the first recorded instance of the disease. Right now, a lot of information about the Zaire outbreak is sitting in Yambuku, but it's not a comprehensive account. I'm a newish editor and would love to make that article, but I wanted to see what others who are interested in Ebola thought. --Rachelwalexander (talk) 14:50, 5 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I put a link to Yambuku in the see also section for now at least. My guess is that what you propose would be fine, but don't go by me. The discussion isn't very active here so it might be better to mention your proposal on the talk page of Wikiproject Viruses. JamesDouch (talk) 12:37, 13 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Non-human outbreaks

[edit]

I assume this article refers to human cases only because the description of the Côte d'Ivoire outbreak implies that at least two wild chimpanzees were infected with TAFV, but only one case, the human, is recorded in the cases column. If I am correct, the 1989, 1992, and 1996 RESTV outbreaks do not belong in the list because they did not involve humans. If there are no objections in the next few days then I will remove them. JamesDouch (talk) 11:33, 3 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I removed them. If someone disagrees they can always be pulled back from the history. JamesDouch (talk) 14:42, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

CFR for West Africa outbreak

[edit]

User:rtc - you've cautioned against changing the number in the table, so I'll leave it to you. CFR is now reliably estimated at 70.8% [1] Robertpedley (talk) 11:32, 3 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I recently changed it to 70%, but nobody seems to read the notice. JKDw (talk) 01:17, 4 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, go on... My notice is just there to prevent inofficial estimates made up by dividing current number of deaths by cases. --rtc (talk) 01:53, 7 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Outbreak in Congo separate from the West Africa outbreak

[edit]

Why? Same species, occurring in West Africa, the cases should just be added to the ongoing epidemic, why a different line and indeed a different article for it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.82.11.50 (talk) 11:04, 8 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

2019 Ebola Outbreak in the DRC

[edit]

I raised a point on the 2018 Kivu Ebola outbreak talk, but there is a new Ebola outbreak which is currently endemic and widespread. There is no discussion or corresponding article. The relevant source is here, from the British Medical Journal: [3] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.113.101.67 (talk) 13:09, 30 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Other Outbreaks

[edit]

I cannot see the necessity to include outbreaks of other hemorrhagic fevers here; otherwise, it shouldn't be solely the Marburg virus. I therefore suggest to remove it from this page, or rename this page to be "List of Filoviridae Outbreaks" — Preceding unsigned comment added by PanVoyager (talkcontribs) 08:57, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

they are Filoviridae just like Ebola, thank you--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 10:46, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If we intend to include all the Filoviridae, the page should be renamed to match with the content.— Preceding unsigned comment added by PanVoyager (talkcontribs)
might not be a bad idea...(BTW the "Events" intro is a good idea)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 14:39, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Missing outbreaks?

[edit]

Should there be an entry for Tandala in 1977? Also, the 2005 outbreak may have involved Mbomo again. That's according to the list on page 72 of the 2014 book Ebola by David Quammen. The rest of the entries on the book's list seem to match up pretty well. Shanen (talk) 09:17, 12 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

will look--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 12:03, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Combine Ebola outbreaks

[edit]

Is the latest ebola your break starting on June 1 part of the Kivu ebola outbreak. As they are both in the democratic republic on the congo it could presume that it is just a new hotspot in the region— Preceding unsigned comment added by Haris920 (talkcontribs)

no, there is no current evidence to support that is the case, until WHO indicates otherwise[4]--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 19:39, 1 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

42 day countdown
