justification[edit]
While the list of ships may be of little interest, the magnitude of transfer of merchant ships and their origins (when built) is something that would probably interest somebody reading about lend-lease. there are maybe half a dozen articles where this can be mentioned. for there to be a summary there has to be a list of ships, so it can be verified.
