many errors

[edit]

there are many errors in this list...it is necessary to rewrite it deeply — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pikkuss (talkcontribs) 16:41, 2 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's not right...

[edit]

Some of the words are in error, and others can't be confirmed. 63.88.111.194 (talk) 03:25, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Ambassador comes from a Celtic root (recorded as ambaxtos), independently borrowed into Latin (ambactus) and Germanic (e.g. Gothic andbahts).
  • Bigot and Bigotry have unknown etymologies.
  • Cheval de Frise is largely from Roman (caballus).
  • Cologne is from Latin (Colonia).
  • Embassy, see Ambassador. Wiktionary lists a route from Celtic to Gothic to Latin, so it's possible.
