The Wikipedia national and international standardisation agency articles British Standards, Deutsches Institut für Normung, European Standard and International Organization for Standardization all have their corresponding "list of standards", namely List of British Standards, List of DIN standards, List of EN standards and List of International Organization for Standardization standards. The Soviet and post-Soviet counterpart of these British, German, European and International Organization for Standardization standards has a Wikipedia article entitled GOST but to date no corresponding list of GOST standards has appeared, which is why I have attempted to remedy the discrepancy by creating such a list in the hope that it will be accepted as a Wikipedia article in its own right.

The format I have chosen closely follows the existing lists of standards I have mentioned above. Like them, the list is incomplete and cannot ever be complete as new GOST standards are still being added well into this new millennium. The existing exemplar list of GOST standards in the article of that name has recently been edited down, making it difficult to appreciate the number and diversity of issues addressed by GOST standards. I have taken particular care to include in the current list any Wikipedia articles or article sections cited on the "GOST standards" Category page. Helmardine (talk) 14:49, 9 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
