Democratic Party

[edit]

Should the Democratic Party formed in 1969 be included in this list, as it was set up by Desmond Donnelly who had been elected as Labour MP, although he had been expelled from the Party in 1968? Dunarc (talk) 23:48, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Independent Labour Party

[edit]

Would it also be worth mentioning that the Independent Labour Party which was affiliated with Labour from 1906 until 1932 broke away in 1932 taking some MPs with it and having a presence in parliament until the remaining ILP MPs defected back to Labour in the late 1940s? It did eventually re-join Labour in 1975. In the 1930s it was major political force in parts of Scotland, notably Glasgow and its surrounds where it returned MPs and Councillors.
