General clean-up

[edit]

I've removed several "red-linked" entries- people with no Wiki articles and, therefore, no way of gauging the degree to which they are famous Latino Republicans. This brings up another question- what exactly is meant by famous? There are several entries currently on the list who, while they do have Wiki articles, seem to be on the list solely for the fact that they are Latino Republicans. One of two things should happen- either these entries too should be removed, or the description of the page should be changed to eliminate the "famous" qualifier. Personally, I think the list should only reflect those individuals who have some degree of fame, notability, notoriety, etc. attached to them in addition to being a Latino Republican (e.g., an actor or other nationally-known person). Otherwise, we already have a number of Latino Republican categories. The Original Historygeek (talk) 22:25, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And on further reflection, the "famous" qualifier could also apply to Latino firsts at lower levels than national, such as a first Latino state assemblyman, etc.The Original Historygeek (talk) 22:27, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Restructure of the article

[edit]

I have restructured the layout so that it has the same look as that of the Black conservatism in the United State article as the new article which I have put in place not only shows the rise of Hispanic Republicans through the years, but also shows what positions they have held, when they were elected/appointed, images of prominent Hispanics, if they are not a politician then I have placed them under a specific category e.g Law or Science. The article now features a section that one could describe as a graph showing hispanic's in federal government. The other version only had names in alphabetical order and had very few people in it, this version I have searched the internet and wikipedia to add people to the article who are both Hispanic and Republican. Hispanic and Latino should not be combined

[edit]

The Hispanic and Latino pages have been merged and instead of it being labeled as "List of Hispanic and Latino Republicans" instead of List of Latino Republicans. Doremon764 (talk) 10:26, 16 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
