I believe it is important to have in one place the people named Living Treasures. It is also important to point out that it is a program of the Honpa temple. Many people have written that it is a program of the Hawai'i Legislature or the Hawai'i "Congress." There has never been a Hawai'i Congress. The Legislature has never had a Living Treasure program. It does issue hundreds of ceremonial proclamations each year upon request. The Living Treasure program, in contrast, is a distinct honor. Makana Chai (talk) 08:16, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
