310-410[edit]

This ancient list of patriarchs seems fictional. I cannot verify them online except through sources that have copied Wikipedia. NONE of the people seem to exist outside that referent which is unusual, to say the least. Needs exceptional scholarly reference at this point. Student7 (talk) 00:55, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Move[edit]

I moved this page from "list of maronite catholic patriarchs" to "list of maronite patriarchs", the first patriarchs had no affiliation to the catholic church so the title was misleading and inaccurate Eli+ 18:51, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Age[edit]

The reference to resignation because of passing a legal is incorrect. There is no age established by Canon Law for the retirement of patriarchs of the Eastern Churches. While the Maronites Patriarchs may elect to retire at a given age, they are not required to do so - unless the Maronites have built such a requirement into their own particular law? Anyone know? Appointed By[edit]

The note alongside the name of Paul Peter Meouchi indicates that he was 'appointed by Pope Pius XII. It may be intended to indicate that he was apppointed as a Cardinal by Pius XII but, as it reads, it suggests that he was appointed as Patriarch by him, which was not the case. Someone needs to delete it - I tried but had issues w/ the format falling apart and undid the change Irish Melkite (talk) 04:01, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What shift?[edit]

"In the list here below the names shifted on the right are not included in the incomplete Assemani's list and derive from the Bejjeh's list." - ??? there are no names 'shifted on the right' (presumably meaning 'right-justified') - all appear to have the same justification.
