Active players to potentially become franchise career scoring leaders (but are currently not)
[edit]Please update as needed.
players not in HOF
[edit]The convention in other stats lists like List of National Basketball Association career scoring leaders was to not have a special color/note for players not in the Hall of Fame. By default, that was the unmarked players. I think the same convention can be followed here. No need to shame those players :-) —Bagumba (talk) 21:06, 27 January 2012 (UTC)

- It's a bit late, but I agree with you, no need to have special color for players non in the Hall of Fame. Anyway, I think number of seasons and the years when the player played for the franchise would be a good addition to the table. — MT (talk) 07:20, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
ranking
[edit]Malone has 36k points with the Jazz and Kobe has Kobe has 33k with the Lakers and Dirk has 29k with the Mavs so thats 3rd by my calculations. So with that said i made the corrections.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Dw122339 (talk • contribs) 15:34, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
Kobe Bryant leads the Lakers, scoring the most points in the NBA while playing for only one team in a career. Dallas Mavericks' leader Dirk Nowitzki is second behind Bryant while only playing for the Mavericks.
The longstanding text above was intended to mention the scoring leaders of players who played with only one team their entire career. Earlier in the article, it already says: Karl Malone scored 36,374 points with the Utah Jazz, the most points by a player for a single franchise.
A recent change by Dw122339 was made as follows:
Kobe Bryant leads the Lakers, scoring the second most points in the NBA while playing for only one team in a career. Dallas Mavericks' leader Dirk Nowitzki is
secondthird behind Bryant and Malone while only playing for the Mavericks.
However, Malone played for two teams in his career, the Lakers and the Jazz, while Bryant and Nowitzki only played for one team. What is the issue with mentioning that Bryant and Nowitzki are the leaders among players who only played for one team during their entire career?—Bagumba (talk) 20:24, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
Sorry my bad, I totally misunderstood it, thought it was saying overall and not with just one team.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Dw122339 (talk • contribs) 21:10, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
- No problem. I assume you're ok with the original version and will revert back.—Bagumba (talk) 23:07, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
