Sources tag

[edit]

I cant find any sources for thisa rticle and unless some appear pretty quickly will reconvert it inot a stub. Many 20th century people are still alive and subject to BLP concerns and therefore claiming they atre Old Etonians without a source is unacceptable. See WP:V, WP:RS and WP:BLP for the relevant policies, SqueakBox 22:42, 12 September 2007 (UTC) SqueakBox 22:42, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aristocrat

[edit]

I consider this term to be a "Peacock" term (WP:APT). In one case it probably means "wealthy", in the other it is implied by the title "Earl". Both are already "notable", so no more descriptive terms are needed. Jpaulm (talk) 16:23, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Importance and Notability

[edit]

On the point of importance it should be noted that Eton College website itself links back to this wikipedia page for a list of Old Etonians. Eton aren't going to disclose this list themselves , this page like many aggregates information that is already in the public domain. Secondly why is notability an issue? Not everybody who went to Eton matches the criteria for having a wikipedia bio but this page is simply aggregating facts, it is not wikipedia bio. Removing individuals because they are not notable is silly because reputations change they may become notable in the future. Hmcst1 (talk) 18:56, 11 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
