Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on April 22, 2009.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that no professional wrestler has held the ROH World Championship twice during its seven-year existence?

Ranking

[edit]

Is there a need for ranking? Doesn't combined length just do the same job? Also if they are ranked then surely Homicide's reign is ranked higher than Low ki's on account of defending it more. If this doesn't come into consideration then it must mean that the only basis for rank is the length of the reign; so surely a ranking column is pointless. Tony2Times (talk) 22:38, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The List of combined reigns table is to show the more days as champion someone was. At the moment no one has won the title more than once. The table only ranks by lengths. So Homicide and Low Ki's lengths are the same so they are ranked at the same level until either one wins the belt again and adds another day onto their total days as champion.--WillC 23:07, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I get that, but if the table is ordered by who held the belt for longest then why isn't it just ordered through that column, isn't the rank column redundant? Tony2Times (talk) 16:02, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It is ordered through the length column. You are starting to confuse me for some reason with your question.--WillC 21:23, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
What he's saying is pretty straight forward actually. He's saying although Homicide and Low Ki held the title for the same amount of days, Homicide should be ranked above Low ki for having more successful defences —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wgreaseball3 (talkcontribs) 05:40, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well the column is for days held, defenses don't really play apart in order. Really the alphabet does. And H comes before L. So I just noticed that Homicide comes after Low Ki and I'm moving it above based on the alphabet.--WillC 06:20, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Defences

[edit]

Now that Double A is a two-time champion, would it be beneficial to add in a combined defences column? Tony2Times (talk) 20:03, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe, but at the moment it seems unneeded until there are a few more two time champions.--WillC 21:15, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nigel's reign

[edit]

Its screwed up. He damn sure didn't have the belt for 545 days.

I think it was a little under a year? Probably the date just needs to be changed from 2007 to 2008. I just don't want to do it because a) I'm not a huge RoH fan so I might be wrong, and b) I don't know how to edit those tables. 173.63.211.235 (talk) 07:28, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nigel won the title on October 6, 2007 at the taping of ROH Undeniable, which aired on PPV tape delay on January 18, 2008, however here on Wikipedia we are to go by the actual date it happened. He lost the title on April 3, 2009 at Supercard of Honor IV . The days held number is determined by Template:Age in days, which in code form looks like this: {{age in days|month1=10|day1=06|year1=2007|month2=04|day2=03|year2=2009}}. That tool has determined that the reign is 545 days.--WillC 06:30, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Broken table

[edit]

The table doesn't sort length of reign properly. Lynn's 71 days isn't longer than Joe's 645. --TheTruthiness (talk) 04:29, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

ROH Title status

[edit]

This article lists Bandido as having vacated the title, but I don't see a single source verifying that. In fact, Bandido has been carrying, and defending the title since then. As of now, I think it's unclear as to whether there are 2 champs, or if Gresham is an interim champion. Is there any official word we can source to clarify? Eras of ROH World Championship

[edit]

I think similarly to how the WCW world championship when listing it's reigns the wikipedia divides it into 3 different eras NWA>WCW>WWF, we could divide this list into different eras of the championship. ROH>AEW Possibly also even mark the point of when it turned from ROH Champion to ROH World Championship 2601:243:1400:D95:300F:DADC:5745:105A (talk) 17:38, 26 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
