[edit]

This list is from the "Hills" chapter of "San Francisco Almanac". It's incomplete even considering only that book, as a) there are other hills in the "Place Names" chapter and b) SFA missed a few. See my http://sfgazetteer.com/how-many-hills-in-san-francisco.html for my list. Someone should reach their own (consistent, defensible) criteria as to what this page should list and add hills which are missing according to those criteria. I might someday, although it seems a little forward to do so right now.

Re citing, my article isn't a great cite, since it's just on the web. It seems more helpful right now to leave it in rather than to remove it. Eventually someone ought to get print citations for all of the hills not already in one of the other print citations.

Seven? 55? Huh?

[edit]

Something seems wrong with this line: "When people talk about the 'Seven Hills' of San Francisco, they refer to the 55 original hills: Telegraph Hill, Nob Hill, Russian Hill, Rincon Hill, Mount Sutro, Twin Peaks and Mount Davidson." Seven hills are listed following the colon, not 55. So what's the number 55 doing there? Either some words are missing, or some words should be eliminated. For example, this revised version would make more sense: "When people talk about the 'Seven Hills' of San Francisco, they refer to these hills: Telegraph Hill, Nob Hill, Russian Hill, Rincon Hill, Mount Sutro, Twin Peaks and Mount Davidson." A column for topographic prominence would be good to have. How to get it without WP:OR I have no idea. —Tamfang (talk) 20:48, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Is it possible to add a column that numbers the rows, so that I may know which is the 7th in alphabetic order or the 9th in height one? thanks. 151.29.89.211 (talk) 08:36, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I note that the list misses the Bay View Heights of the map. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.29.138.86 (talk) 14:35, 5 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
