What is this?

[edit]

This list could be a rich resource for both the interested browser and the serious researcher on notable figures in the history of the Scout Movement. This is the paradigm I used in constructing the Philippines section. Apparently, however, others do not share the same vision, and cleaned up the information which would have been interesting to those who have no access to the published references which are now no longer in print and are extremely rare. It appears that there are those who prefer this to be a ridiculous and (in the words of Scouter Brian) "embarrassing" list of actors, athletes, politicians, and criminals with only the slightest and most tenuous thread of connection to Scouting.Oliver Puertogallera (talk) 01:28, 16 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No do not think this list is about notable figures in the history of the Scout Movement, or at least not only. It is to show that many notable people in many areas of life have been influenced by the Scout Movement in their youth. --Bduke (Discussion) 22:22, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No Bear Grylls?

[edit]

Or even his real name, Edward Michael? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.200.36.103 (talk) 16:07, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So add him. --Bduke (Discussion) 22:19, 22 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Now done! Alansplodge (talk) 19:23, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Girls' Brigade?

[edit]

Shown as a sub-section within the United Kingdom listing. Not really a Scouting organisation by any definition is it? I intend to delete it unless anybody knows a good reason not to. Alansplodge (talk) 19:27, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

We list it as Scout-like, so the question is, do Scout-like organizations belong with this list? --  Gadget850 talk 20:16, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I can't see any others, so I think the answer to that is "no". Any objections to removal? Alansplodge (talk) 19:56, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No objection at all, not a Scouting organization by any definition. DuncanHill (talk) 21:21, 10 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your input. "Girls' Brigade" subsection now removed. Alansplodge (talk) 18:01, 20 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
