Miscellaneous[edit]

  • Ben Roethlisberger, starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, was the youngest quarterback to start in a Super Bowl at 23 years of age (XL). The record was previously held by Dan Marino at 23 years, 11 months. He is also the youngest to win the Super Bowl, Tom Brady was previously the youngest.

  • Antwaan Randle El, wide receiver formerly of the Pittsburgh Steelers, is the first wide receiver to throw a touchdown pass in a Super Bowl (XL).
  • Chuck Howley, LB from the Dallas Cowboys is the only player from a losing team to be honored as MVP. (V).
  • Devin Hester, CB from the Chicago Bears is the only player to return the opening kickoff in a Super Bowl for a touchdown. (XLI).
  • Jon Gruden, head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was the youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl. (XXXVII).
  • Tony Dungy, head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, was the first African American head coach to coach in a Super Bowl and win a Super Bowl.(XLI). (Lovie Smith, an African American head coach, also coached in that game thus making it the first NFL championship game with two African American head coaches.)

Largest Comeback?[edit]

Best Super Bowl win percentage, 100%[edit]

Either the title of this record or its content should be changed because, as it stands now, there are four teams with a 100% win percentage. We could keep the title as-is and add the Jets, Bucs, and Saints to the record, or change the title to something like "Best Superbowl Win Record" which will only include the Ravens. 69.74.62.21 (talk) 04:00, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Turnovers[edit]

List_of_Super_Bowl_records#Turnovers. Shouldn't this list also include "Turnover on Downs". Although, that'll be a bit more difficult to sift through. But at least, it's narrowed to 20 games or so. So, if any of the "turnover free" teams actually committed a turn over by failing a 4th down conversion, then they should be excluded. KyuuA4 (Talk:キュウ) 10:22, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No. WP:PROVEIT Turnover on downs is never counted as a turnover for statistics. Using Super Bowl XLVIII as an example, the Seahawks turned over on downs twice in the 4th quarter. Does this add up?[edit]

Yes it does. The career listing shows all games Roger played in, and not that he fumbled in each game. A career listing in the article shows all games a person played in-- Look 2 categories down, fumbles recovered. Several players recovered 2 fumbles, but played in 3 or four games. Omission[edit]

I know Don_Beebe has played in six SuperBowl games (XXV, XXVI, XXVII and XXVIII with the Buffalo Bills; XXXI and XXXII with the Green Bay Packers). Possible non occurrence[edit]

Highest completion percentage, both teams, 75% (84–63)[edit]

This doesn't add up. The correct numbers are 82.1 and 68.9. Im not sure how to properly cite.[1]

The numbers mean 63 completions and 84 attempts. Weird way to show it, but it is consistent that way throughout the whole record list. Spparky (talk) 18:06, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
