Merge?[edit]

I am starting this list per a suggestion in an AfD. These 10th Kingdom characters have been subject to three AfDs now. The consensus of the first two was clearly to keep (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/10th Kingdom character articles and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Christine White). The third has no consensus. Thus, there is clearly no consensus to delete these article, but the question is if it is better to have separate articles or to instead merge them to a list such as this? If the preference is separate articles, then we can always just redirect this page to the main article page, but I want to throw it out there for the sake of an alternative. Given a choice between keep and merge, I'd strongly go with merge. However, it must be made clear that merge does not mean "copy paste entire articles here". Rather, they must be merged in such a way that this list is a properly formatted character list as per appropriate guidelines and FL notes on an acceptable character list. I've fixed some issues with the initial version (way too much plot, tons of fan/single sockpuppet WP:OR and copyvio issues, which has been a problem plaguing the individual articles since it first came out). Also, I'm pretty sure this should have been named List of The 10th Kingdom characters. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 17:27, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I have renamed it per your suggestion above and am going through these results for information on the development and reception sections. There seems to be a wealth of material there, although unfortunately a number of sources are Pay per view, but here I'm hoping to just lay the foundations anyway. I think the new stuff I added to the Virginia Lewis article is logical here, but I am reluctant to do the merge during the AfD, although some of the material I added there was merged by another editor elsewhere, and it's a pretty clear "no consensus", but anyway, probably best if either someone else does that or we wait another day. Anyway, I like the reorganization you did! I appreciate the help! Best, --A NobodyMy talk 17:37, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If they are from newspapers or journals and you have the basic info, I can probaly get them through my uni's library. I'm pretty sure the DVD has some making of features which might be useful as well. Need to check it when I get home. Probably should wait for the AfD to close, though I think it is good that there is a compromise suggestion. Being nearly 7 hours long, a concise, separate character list is acceptable to me. :) -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 17:45, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed and believe I linked to in the AfD where Youtube has interviews with Kimberly (actress who plays Virginia) in which she discusses at least her character. Anyway, hopefully the participants in that discussion will see the value here. I truly believe that character lists are a good way for all of us to compromise, i.e. the characters are covered as say "inclusionists" want, but in one place rather than in multiple places. Now obviously this doesn't preclude separate articles for characters like Luke Skywalker, but for instances such as this where we have enough review to write at least a reception section and DVD commentaries and the like for a development section, but it concerns characters from one fictional universe, the I can live with a character list instead. The YouTube links can't be used those :P And agreed on lists. :) -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 18:23, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I can tell here are all the articles from which content may exist for the purposes of merges and redirects: Christine Slevil-Lewis-White, Christine White, Huntsman (The 10th Kingdom), Prince Wendell White, Tony Lewis (The 10th Kingdom), Troll (The 10th Kingdom), Virginia Lewis, Virginia Lewis (10th Kingdom), Virginia Lewis (The 10th Kingdom), Wendell Winston Walter White, and Wolf (The 10th Kingdom). Also, there may be from what we find for this article, mergeable information on how say Snow White has been depicted in various works of fiction?
