Splitting table[edit]

Would it be ok to split the table into date ranges? Two sections, 19xx through 2000, and 2001 through present would work for me. The trouble with one big table is that it is harder to edit and find the entry one wants to modify. Sdsds 04:38, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think the best course of action would be to merge with the DIV list, and split the whole thing to match the Atlas list. Some format changes to bring it in line with the Atlas list wouldn't go amiss either. --GW 08:21, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Possible ownership issues[edit]

I am concerned that CapeCanaveral321 (talk · contribs) is exhibiting ownership of this article in violation of policy by refusing to discuss changes here on the talk page instead of working with other editors and deciding to unilaterally revert an article to their version of it. When specific articles exist that are better than a general article, the specific article should be linked. -MBK004 02:46, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just as a random passery-by, I'd like to comment on this. First, I don't think you can accuse CapeCanaveral321 of ownership at this point - ownership is usually fairly protracted and pronounced, and while I do see a lot of edits by him/her, I don't see any obvious signs of ownership at a quick glance. (That doesn't mean it's not there, just that it wasn't obvious in a quick perusal of the history and some of the edits.)
CapeCanaveral321: Why do you feel that all 49 entries have to be linked at once? Wouldn't it make more sense to let people contribute the links that they know and as some are provided, people will realize that they should probably be provided for the remainder? I know nothing of the subject, so maybe there's a reason that doesn't work in this case...just asking. --RobinHood70 (talk) 03:28, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • To add to that, I would like to know why "NAVSTAR", which is an obsolete name, is used instead of the individual names of the satellites. --GW 08:21, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
