Nature of article[edit]

There are a number of issues with this article. It is out of date and likely to remain so - the amount of T20 cricket played means that it's always going to be difficult to keep things like career totals up to date. Perhaps in 20 years time we might have a chance of doing so. The overuse of flags is also quite irritating. Almost all of the dates are - present, indicating that there is just so much change happening that it's hopeless trying to keep it all up to date. The database at CricInfo is used as the primary source for all the entries so we're essentially mirroring that anyway.

I suggest:

  • cutting down the scope of the article. Specifically, keeping just key markers: highest and lowest totals, highest scores and partnerships for each wicket, best bowling, highest wicket takers. Possibly catches/dismissals in a match.
  • losing the flags
  • adding context - and replacing some sections, such as fastest 50/100, most sixes etc... with prose alone as a summary.

The alternative (with tweaking of course) is deletion on the grounds of mirroring another site I think. Blue Square Thing (talk) 10:48, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think the list of teams for players in the career totals can go too, they are taking up too much space. Spike 'em (talk) 11:12, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I've tidied up a few of the team record tables, will try some individual ones later Spike 'em (talk) 12:00, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The article is steadily growing, with new tables being added, but absolutely no prose to explain it. This is a huge WP:NOTSTATS / WP:NOTMIRROR failure and I'd be tempted to nuke it and start again. Spike 'em (talk) 10:16, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
