Other minors[edit]

Hi there. Would it be worth adding brief sections on Andy (Janet's ex), & Janet's dad here? I know they only appear in a few eps but they have arguable merit for plot involvement. I'd be glad to contribute them. Also some of the existing might benefit from tidying up on the wording to avoid confusion. Rodhullandemu 23:56, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I guess you're right. But instead of "inserting" them in the Supporting Character section, create a new section and put them in there. Name it Minor Characters, because they're not a really supporting characters, if you know what I mean... Cheat.2.Win 03:27, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For the minor charachters you could also add the posh guy who Louise was seeing in series 2--El Legend 15:49, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I had him in mind too but I intend to go through all the DVDs. The criteria have to be pretty strict otherwise, for example, Janet's asbestos-tongued blind date might be included. I intend to use the following: (a) appearance in more than one episode, (b) more than minimal dialogue, such as to (c) contribute to the plot or the comedy. But not without being flexible, of course. --Rodhullandemu 15:54, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Go for it then. =P Cheat.2.Win 10:13, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Should the old pub regulars be in the minor characters because they are in a lot of episodes in series 5 and 6, although they never have dialogue and the only plot involvement was Arthur kissing Jonn to test if he was gay --El Legend 15:43, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think you've answered your own question there! I don't intend to put them in.--Rodhullandemu 15:50, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think if Phillip is included in Minor Characters we are going to have to include James as well to avoid arguments over contributory roles in episodes; I think they probably had an approximately equal amount of screen time and had major speaking roles in the episodes that they appeared... so, both in or both out?AirdishStraus (talk) 23:29, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For the sake of completeness, then, I'd change my mind & say both in. Reading what I had written above, I've obviously changed my mind about Arthur. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 23:35, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tighten up[edit]

I think what is needed is to tighten up what goes into these sections; minor plot events aren't really always useful IMO, to explain what the characters are about. What I would expect a reader to be looking for are (a) Family (b) Job (c) Personality Traits (d) Likes/Dislikes (e) Major plot involvements. I'm sure more might spring to mind but bear in mind this is meant to be an encyclopedia, not a fanzine. Please have a look at Wp:fancruft for what I mean here. Cheers. --Rodhullandemu 23:58, 18 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Jonny Keogh.jpg[edit]

Image:Jonny Keogh.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:30, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Minor characters ?[edit]

i suggest we move munch, kelly, flo and possibly tim as main characters as they are becoming more prominent —Preceding unsigned comment added by Helicopter tours (talkcontribs) 21:55, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They are not the core characters. Kelly is not in the current series. Flo is dead. We don't know yet how much part Tim is going to play. I suggest they stay where they are for now. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 21:58, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spoilers[edit]

Maybe there should be a warning at the top of the page warning you that there's going to be spoilers in this article? Chris (talk) 19:30, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There was a community-wide discussion in about January/February this year which reached a consensus not to give spoiler warnings. I'll post the link if I can dig it out. --Rodhullandemu 19:33, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Writing about fiction[edit]

Taking WP:MOSFICT as our starting point, all Two Pints-related articles should be written from an "out of universe" perspective; this means (1) we write an overview of the whole programme and (2) do not just rewrite the articles to reflect the current position. In particular (1) Jonny is a major character throughout six of the eight series (2) Timothy Claypole, overall, has so far had fewer appearances than Floella Henshaw, Munch or Kelly the Barmaid, so writing "out of universe" means that he is NOT a main character. That's the way it is. Arguments based on what "other articles do" just shows how poorly they are written. --Rodhullandemu 22:16, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
